As a part ol their devotional the group engaged' In a Bible Study from the book of Genesis. The study was followed by a business session, after which the host?ss served delicious refresh men Li. The next meeting will be held on Fob. 15 with Miss Lena Car roll as hostess at fier home on 109 North ^Tracy street. , This circle meets on each 2nd and 4th Monday nights. Ladies from other circles or any Inter ested friends are invited to at tend these meetings. The. Good Neighbor Communi ty Club met at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Weaver January 4. The president opened the meeting. Unfinished and new business was discussed and plans were made to celebrate the club's first anniversary. This service will be held Sunday, Jan. 31 at Mt. Zion Baptist church at 3 p. m. Offi cers were elected for the insuing year as following: President, Mrs. Hophie Gray; recording secretary, Mrs. Margret Leach; finance secretary, Mrs. Anne Map Byers; treasurer, Mrs. Mo zell Green. RECREATION BOUND-UP BASKETBALL The Recreation "Bantam*", sponsored by the Kiwanis club, remained undefeated iri league play, last week, sharing top hon ors with the strong Red Shield club of Gastonla. The Little League Basketball team worked out several hours Saturday morning at the local gym. Several new candidates for the team showed up, bringing the roster up to 18. "Most teams of this size play on a shaved-down court and for this reason it Is hard to get teams to play on a regulation court," Director Rted Layton said. "Many out of town games could be ar ranged but for the transportation problem and the hazards Involved in taking these younger boys on trips. Games will be limited for this group to Inter-city contests." Players are too old for Little Lea-, gue play who were members of last years all-star team are: Da vid Plonk, Banks Guyton, John Carpenter, Freddy Hambrlght, John Hardin, Bud Conner, Dot Hgnor, Jerry Wright, and Don Gladden.
