One Acddent
Only one accident was reported
by the police department this past
week.
Saturday morning a Ford two
door car driven by Samuel E.
Crawford, route 1, Clover, S. C.,
struck a 1950 Pontlac two-door
car driven by Sam Young, 246
Pursley strteet, R^ek Hill, S.'C.,
on the right rear fender. The ac
cident occurred at the Inter sec
tions of East King street and
Cleveland avenue.
Damages sustained by both
cars werte estimated to be $275.

will be completed at a meeting
Thursday, at 6:30, with District

ternational, to conduct the meet
ing.
Tommy Owens, temporary sec
retary -treasurer of the group,
made the announcement. The
group will meet, Mr. Owens said,
at Corner Cafe for a *"Dutch"
supper preceding a ibusiness
meeting at the courtroom at
which time officers will be elec
ted and installed.
The Kings Mountain club is
being sponsored by the Shelby
Optimists. L. J. Bailey is presi
dent of the Shelby clUto.
"Youth," Mr. Owens said, "is
the objective of Optimist organi
zations, and a large group of
business and professional men
here have. evidenced interest in
starting a local club that will
play ? role in youth activities in
Kings Mountain," he continued.

facing a charge of reckless driv
ing as the result of ? three-car
smashup on the Kings Mountain
highway Sunday afternoon.
C. F. Capell, State highway pa
trolman, said the Sanders vehi
cle was traveling east on U. S.
Highway- 29 and attempted to
make ? left turn from the right
lane while the two other vehicles
were passing. Hie Sanders car
was damaged $250 in the acci
dent. .

The third vehicle, a 1952 Ford
