Polly Page, (president of the club, presided over the meeting, and Mis. George W. Mauney was In charge of the' program. R. M? Shields, Executive Sec retary of the Piedmont Council of Boy Scouts, was the speaker and showed a movie on "Wild Flowers and Their Conserva tion." The next regular meeting of the group will be held on Wed nesday, April 28. ^Members of the club will go irt a group to visit the Spring flower Show at the Woman's club. Mrs. P. E. Hendricks Duplicate Club Hostess Duplicate Bridge club members met Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. P. E. Hendricks. Mrs. L. E. Abbott won high in bridge games for the afternoon and Mrs. Howard Jackson won the second-high award. Guests playing, in addition to club membters, were Mrs. H. R. Nelsler, Mrs. Amos Dean, Mrs. T. L. Temple Baptist WMU Held Meeting Monday Members of the Woman's Mis sionary Union of Temple Baptist church met at the church Monday night for the group's regular gen-' eral meeting. Mrs. Herbert Dqver, president, conducted the devotional and pre sided over the routine business | session. Twelve members attend ed the meeting. Mrs. Clyde Whet stine was welcomed into the ^roup as a new member. Program chairmen for the eyen- j ing were Mrs. Agnes Cole and | Mrs, Oran White. They discusscd the "Life of Annie Armstorng" for a program topic. Following the meeting, a social j hour was enjoyed in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. W. C. Ledford Honored On Birthday Mrs. W. C. Ledford was honor ed on her 74th birthday at a din ner. given for her by her children j at the Pauline club house Sunday, ' March 21. All of the hdhoree's children ' were present antf a number of her | grandchildren and great-grand children attended. Dinner was servled picnic style and gifts were presented to the honoree, which she opened and displayed. Pictures were taken during the afternoon. Mrs. James Bolin, president, presided over the bus iness session. Mrs. J. C. Nickels, school su perintendent, recognized a gift of six record players on behalf of the school. The gift was presented to the school by the PTA. Mrs. Jim Cloninger gave the roll call and Mrs. Hendterson Herndon read the treasurer's report.
