Program On "Prisons" Discussed By Circle , Central Methodist church Cir cle No. 8 met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Annie Mae How ie and Miss Gllie Hartsell at their home on Piedmont Avenue. Sixteen members and three visitors, Mrs, Jim Smith, Miss Mozelle. Masters, and Carey Shore attended. The meeting was open ed with a period of silent prayer. ? Miss Margaret Cornwell was in charge of a devotional lor the meeting. She read Psalm 103 and a meditation. Two hymns, 'The Old Rugged Cross" and "Love Divine" were sung by the group. ' Mrs. Trott emphasized how church women can help better conditions in re lation to prisons and remarked "that pt ople are sent to prison as punishment and not for punish ment." Jenkins were honored by their children and grandchildren at dinner at the Margrace Woman's club house Sunday. They were cele brating birthday anniversaries. Dinner was served bullet style ] at the noon hour. A decorated birthday cake centered the din ing room table.
