Bethwaie Nine Ties Boiling Springs To Go Into Second Place Deadlock Bethware tied Boiling Springs 11-11 last Thursday to go into a tie with the Boiling Springs nine for second place in the county loop and on Tuesday I blasted Mooresboro 8-1. Eddie Varboro, diminutive little righthander, allowed the Mooresboro club only three hits Tuesday in a game marred with errors. Bethware got six hits but capi talized on nine Mooresboro mis. cues to score five runs in the first and one each in the second, fourth and fifth. Yarboro gave up a walk and a double to Mooresboro's Huck aby in the second for the loser's lone tally. Jack Harmon led the Bethware hitting with one for three. Logan, Jr., said Wednesday that city police offi cers are still citing motorists who have not yet purchased 1954 city auto license stickers. Chief Logan also said that mo torists ?re required to have 1954 city license stickers on their cars. That was the report Tuesday of Charles E. Dixon, chairman of the Junior Chamber of Commerce committee assisting Charlotte race officials. The Charlotte race is to be run on June 30, with a Kings Moun tain "warm-up" scheduled for June 15. Boys 11-15 are eligible to participate in the race, with the winner to compete in the In ternational race this summer at Akron, Ohio. Mr. Dixon pointed out that boys are not allowed to spend over $23 on their racers. Actual cost of wheels for the cars is $13.50 and they are available from Mr. Dixon. Hte also said that Victory Chev rolet Co., is making and donating steering wheels to the entrants. The steering units sell for $3.50 he said.
