Gordon Sm The Want Ad Section For This Week's Completed Puzzle Annual Charlotte Soap Box Derby Warm Up Scheduled Here June 16 The warm up race for the an nual Soap Box ?-?rby in Char lotte has been scheduled ih Kings Mountain for June 16, at 4 o'clock. ? Plans are now for the race to be run from the top ofjhe hill on South Railroad avenue between W. King and W. Mountain streets. * The Kings Mountain race is being conducted by the Junior Chamber -of Commerce with local firms sponsoring the contes tants. The Jaycees are assisting Charlotte officials with the Char lotte Derby and Victory Chevro let Co. is one of the Charlotte a rea sponsors. The winner of the warm up race will !be given a special prize Charles Dixon, chairman of the Jaycee committee said. Contestants 'Who run in the Kings Mountain Derby will be eligible to run in the Soap Box Dert>y at Charlotte. The Charlotte winner will go Jo Akron, Ohio, to compete in the International Soap Box Derby. Both the Char lotte and Akron, Ohio, races are sponsored toy the Chevrolet Di vision of General Motors. THE RESURRECTION STORY The third through seventh grades of Patterson Grove school visited places of interest in Gas tonia and Charlotte Wednesday. Transportation was furnished by Mrs. W. K. Crook, Mrs. J. L. Hall man, Grady Seism, Mrs. Frank Hamrick, Mr. Melvin Wright; Mr, Eugene Patterson, Lawrence Hen derson. v Mrs. Albert Hamrick and son, bum, spent Sunday afternoon visiting her sister, Mrs. Costner, and her brother, Mr. Hendricks, in the Beam's Mill community. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hamrick spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamrick. Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Putnam, Jes site and Brenda, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wright, Mary Lou, Caro lyn, and Harold attended memo rial services at Prospect church.
