and Jimmy jumped off the raft
and came back up with ice cubes
pouring out of their ears and Ice
cicles hanging from their nose
and chin. Bill Ware and the rest
of the bpys from Troop 5 that
were also down there said the wa
tev was warmer if you would do
something he did, we ask what
did he do, so he said, "I've got a
heater down on the bottom." We
didrft happen to have a heater so
we left.

Set For Weekend
The Gaston Motor Calvalcade
will be held at the Gastonia Arm
ory Friday from 6 p. m. until mid
night and Saturday from 12 p. m.
until 12 a: m., according to Ch'ar
les "Bob* Mincey, a member of
the Gastdn Rescue Association,
The show, Mr. Mincey said, will
feature antique, sports, custom
built, hot-rod, and new car$ along
with a boat display, and State
Highway Patrol car demonstrat
ing "the wammy".

the members of the Resurreptlon
Lutheran church assembled at |
Lutheridge, which is the South'
em Lutheran -Assembly Grounds.
After a hearty picnic lunch pre
pared by the Women of the !
Church, a service was .held in the
lovely chapel and it's position on
a high knoll blended beautifully
with nature's own wonders.

mathematics and JoAnne Hawn,
student, of Lenoir-Rhyne College
gave talks of Interest on college
activities. ,
Regular Sunday morning serv
ices will be held at 11 a. m, May
23. Pastor Fritz will speak on the
subject of "Prayer." All visitors
