THE RESURRECTION STORY By Mrs. W. H. George The Southern District of the Brotherhood met last Sunday, May 30, at Bethpage Lutheran church. Resurrection was repre sented by a large number of bro thers, from' the congregation. Vacation Bible School begins on June 7th. The children will benefit from this school. Bring them. The study theme will be "Friends With Jesus." New screens were fitted to the church windows. . These screens are designed to cut down glare and fading in the building. Come and enjoy the cool, serene sanc tuary. This Sunday, June 6, is Pente cost, the birthday of the church. It was on this day, over 19 cen turies ago, that God sent the Holy Spirit to the Apostles as they as sembled together. Members of the congregation should be pre sent to share in this church ser vice. The sermon given by Pastor Fritz will be '"Hie Church Is Born." Baptism for infants will also be given. Visitors are always welcome. . The first union church service will be this Sunday evening at 7:30. Everyone is invited to at tend this service at St. Matthews Lutheran church. The speaker will be W. L. PresBley. The apparent decline in the protein content of corn in recent years may be a result of lower maximum summer temperatures that have prevailed in the corn belt since the mid-1930's. Wheat acreage for harvest in North Carolina this year, 316,000 acres, is the lowest since 1930, when Tar Heel farmers harvested 265,000 acres. ' BRAND NEW LEE DELUXE TIRES FIRST QUALITY ?
