I. Bill training before August 20, 1954 1? they are to receive such training. Veterans separated after August 20, 1952 have 'two years from the date of separation to commence training. George C. Warllck of the Gas tonia VA Office cautions veterans not to confuse the terms dis charge and separated, inasmuch as many veterans have been re leased from active duty and transferred to a reserve compo nent of the armed forces. They will not actually receive a dis charge certificate until their re serve obligation, usually some 5 or 6 years, has been fulfilled. Consequently, the two years de limiting period dates from the date released from active duty, though the discharge from the servicte may be 5 years or more later.
