Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Cornwell, Miss Margaret Corn well, Mrs. Minnie Ware, and Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Cornwell, all of Kings Mountain, Mr. and Mrs. Glfes Cornwell and family of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. and Mrj. E. W. Sanford and family of Hart well, Ga., and Mrs.. Leon Purse, of Summerton, S. C., Mrs. O. E. Hawkins of Macon, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Hayes and family of Charleston, S. C., and the hos tess, her husband, and family. Mr. Cornwell received many nice and useful gifts. Mrs. Y. F. Mrs. Edward Anthony worte a printed nylon dress, and Mrs. Thompson was dressed in floral pique. Each wore a white shoul der corsage, a gilt from the hos tesses. Hendricks, president of the Woman's Society of Chris tian Service of Central Methodist church, was hostess to the Execu tive Board meeting of the society at her home Monday night. Mrs. Ben Beam offered the opening prayer and Mrs. Hen dricks asked each member to give a report of her work during the year and each gave suggestions for worK in each department. Mrs. M. L. Guests were greeted at the door by Mr. and Mrs. Stowe and invited into the living room, which was decorated with mixed flowers and lighted tapers. In the center of the dining room table, which was covered with a white linen cloth, was a centerpiece of mixed flowers, flanked on each side by lighted tapers in silver holders. A three tiered pink and white wedding cake was at one end of the table. The cake was cut and served by Mrs. A. C. Vickers of Spartan burg, S. C. Punch was poured by Mrs. C. G. Lynn, and salted nuts, and pink and white mints were served by Anne Vickers of Spar tanburg, S. C., and .Carolyn Jo nas of Kings Mountain. The couple presented gifts to attendants in their wedding.
