Miss Rachel Jean Gladden and Ector H. Short, Jr., both of Kings Mountain, were married Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in a simple ceremony in Gaffney, S. C. Vows of the double-ring cere mony were heard by Miss Mary Ellen White, probate judge. The bride wore a two-piece suit of navy blue gabardine with mat ching accessories and a shoulder corsage of pink carnations. Jim my Short, the groom's brother, was the couple's only attendant, Mrs. Short, daughter of Mf. and Mrs. Howard L,. Gladden, at tended Kings Mountain high school prior to her marriage. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ector H. Short, Sr., was graduated In 1954 from Kings Mountain high school and is em ployed at Gulf Service Station. Mr. and Mrs. Short have re- , turned from a wedding trip and are making their home tempor arily with the groom's parents on East King street.
