Biubeth Stewart, Editor Phone 167 I McGinnis-Tucker Vows Solemnized Miss Myra Joyce McGlnnis, o f G rover, and Eddie Tucker, of. Kings Mountain, were married Sunday at 12 o'clock noon in a simple ceremony in New Buffalo Baptist church. Rev. N. S. Hardin, pastor of the church, heard the couple pledge the vow's of the double ring service. White gladioli, fern and lighted taper*, provided back ground decoration. A program of jiano music was presented prior to and during the exchange of vows. The bride, who entered the | church with ? the 'groom, wore a white winter faille dress with white accessories. Shfe carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid. Ushers were Donald Ellis, of Kings Mountain, and Donald Mc Glnnis, of Shelby. { Mrs. McGlnnis, the bride's mo I ther, wore a pink suit with match t Ing accessories. The groom's mo J ther worte 6 grey two-piece suit i with black accessories. Each of the mothers wore a shoulder cor sage of white carnations. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Edwin McGlnnis of Grover, is a student at GroVer high school. Mr. Tucker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Walter Tuc ker, was graduated from Grover high school in 1954 and is employ lij ed at the local Dixie Home Store. Gastonia Couple Honored At Wedding Breakfast Here Miss Ruth Torrfcnce and Mrs. Worth Kiser, both of Gastonia, entertained Saturday at Kings Mountain Woman's club at a wed ding breakfast honoring Mrs. Bertha Whitesides and Hugo Hegemann, whose wedding took place Saturday at Gastonla's Pis gah ARP church. Mrs. Whitesides has held a po. sition with the home demonstra tion program in Gaston county for the past 12 years. The refreshment table, covered with a white damask cloth, held an arrangement .of frosted grap es, white wedding btells, ever greens, and white tapers. She was a j member of the Westminister Sym phonic Choir which sang three performances of The Brahms Re quiem in Carnegie Hall, New York, with the New York Phil harmonic Orchestra under the di rection of Bruno Walter. Miss Hicks read the story "Why the Chimes Rang" and Miss Gantt read a poem. At the Spiri tual Life group meeting at 7:30, the program \vas conducted by Miss Gantt She gave several Christmas readings. Mrs. P. E. Hendricks, the presi dent, presided over the business session. Plans were discussed for a study courste to be conducted at the church on January 18. Dr. W. P. Gerberdlng, pastor of St Matt hew's Lutheran church, will teach the course, "India And Pakistan". Dinner Party Held - At Lake Montonia Mr. and Mrs. Meek Carpenter entertained members of the King and Quteen of Clubs Monday even ing at dinner at Lake Montonia. Bridge ?prizes went to Mrs. Joe Neisler, Jr., and Gene Timms. On ly club members attended. Robinson, brother of the bride, Dan Clem mer, Bobby Oates, Moffatt Falls, and Ralph L. Deaton, brother-in law of the bride. Bobby Robinson, nephew of the bride, was ring-bearer. Mrs, Robinson, the bride's mo ther, wore a dress of mauve pink imported lace with matching jew eled hat and a bouquet of pink carnations. The groom's mother wore a na vy romaini! crepe dress with pink accessories and a shoulder cor sage of white carnations. Mrs. Nivens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Robinson of Love ^Heights, Gastonla, is a student at Gastonla high school. Mr. Nivens Is a student at Gaston Technical Institute. After {i Florida wfedding trip, the couple will be at home in Love Heights, Gastonia. Christmas Parties Set At Country Club A Christmas patty for pre school children and children who are in the first, second, and third grades will be' held at the Coun try club Wednesday (this after noon) at 3 o'clock, according to Mrs. Henry Neisler, a member of the social committee. A tea dance for high school and college students is scheduled Saturday from four until six o'clock at the Country club, and a New Year's Eve party Is sche duled December 31. Music will be furnishted by I. J. Olds and orches tra, of Gaffney, S. C. Mr, and Mrs. M. A.
