TRADITIONAL There’s been a battle going on for many years between modernists and traditionalists in art. music architecture —1 and furniture design. Who is to say which is| right a n d f which 1 .s| wrong? The truth is Miat neither side wrong. It’s a matter of ideolo gy and whether it is modern or traditional, or a mixture of both, the only true criteria is: if it’s good design, it’s all right. Right now there is a strong trend in both directions, even though this may sound con tradictory'. Factories featuring good design in modern and contemporary’, and those fea turing Early American. Colon ial. ISth Century. French Itali an and Spanish Provincial in well designed, authentic styl ed furniture, are all doing equally well. Never did the furniture buy er have such a wide variety and selection of every con-* ceivable style of furniture to choose from. Furthermore, most home- makers don’t want one style of furniture throughout their home. It’s not unusual these days to sec a lovely home furnished with English tradi tioiial in the living room, French Provincial in the din ing room, and bedrooms furn isht'd in Regency. Italian and Early American. This br(‘aks away complete ly from the monotony of us ing the same type of furniture throughout the home. A mix ture of two or throe different periods of furniture in the same home can be perfectly charming. .\nd for a comphde selection of furniture, we invite you to come in. cake, atl Mrs. Hunlej’ Warlh'k :,r Hickory and Mrs. Vernem Tate of Tampa, Fla. a]i»*rnat(Ml at ‘he punch bowl^ Miss Deda Dawn O'Neal aruJ Herman Luther Campbell, Jr., both seniors at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, will be married Saturday in a 1 p.m. ceremony in Knoxville’s Second Presbyterian church.
