The Gardner-Webb Pep Band and Cheerleaders offered entertainment and Coach John Spencer introduced the football players. Miss Celeste Ball, a sophomore from Charlotte, was crowned Homecoming Queen at halftime of the Chowan . Gardner-Webb football game Saturday evening. Gardner-Webb's team closed out the successful day whipping Chowan 30-14 before an estimat ed 3,000 persons in Blanton Me morial Stadium.
