Miss Wright attended the Knights of Carrousel Ball Wednesday evening at Charlotte Coliseum. The 1965 event takes on its first international flavor with the appearance of Miss Universe, Corinna Tso- pei of Athens, Greece as • ® ■' " ■' honor parade marshal. Miss Dominion of Canada, Carol Ann Tidey of Hamilton, On tario is honor queen and duchess. Among other personalities appearing in the parade will be The Sun Goddess and Jr. Sun Goddess of St. Peters burg, Fla., the South Carolina Peach Queen; the North Carolina Rhododendron Queen; and the Miss Teenage America first runner-up; Miss Sun Fun USA of Myrtle Beach, S. C. and Santa Claus. Chief marshal will be Lee Majors, "Heath" In ABC’s "Big Valley." Jamie Eric Pursley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pursley of Shelby, former Kings Moun tain residents, celebrated his second birthday Satur day at a small family party at his home. Ice crea.m and a birthday cake decorated with cow boys, horses and Indians was served. Jamie's three - year - old sister, Robin, was also pres ent in addition to their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pursley and Mrs. Olie Kiser, all of Kings Mountain. Jamie's mother Is the former Joyce Kiser. Timmy Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Chap man, will mark his sixth birthday today (Thanksgiv ing Day). A birthday party was held Wednesday at Candy Cane Nursery with Timmy's parents host to the 35 children. A decorated birthday cake, topped with candy sildiers, was cut and served with ice cream. Holiday Tours Set Two holiday tours are scheduled in neighboring cities Thursday, Dec. 2. Shelby Junior Charity League is sponsoring for the first time a "Holiday House" bazaar at the home of Mrs. Jack Palmer, Jr., 900 Montrose Circle. The "Holiday House" will be open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served tea style and admission Is $1., a spokesman for the League said. Proceeds will benefit the League's extensive program of charity work in the county. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gregory announce the arrival of their sixth child and third daughter—Regina Elaine Greg ory, born November 22, Kings Mountain hospital. Gastonia Council of Garden Clubs Is sponsoring a Holiday Tour, "Christmas Gems", Thursday, Dec. 2, from I I a.m. until 9 p.m. Holiday Inn on West Franklin Avenue will be head quarters for the Tour and tickets are $1.
