, Mrs. W. L. Pressly of Mooresvillei formerly of Kings
Mountain, left Tuesday morning via plane for Europe on a
tour of gardens in Europe. Mrs. Pressly is a nationally accre
dited flower show judge and has long beefi active in garden
clubwork.
Dr. Pressly Is former pastor of Boyce Memorial ARP
church.
Mrs. Pressly will return home for their son's graduation
from UNC Medical ^chool in June. After receiving his de
gree, James Allen Pressly will serve a one-year internship in
surgery at Saint Luke's hospital in New York.

time in over ten years, Gastonia
has a full-fledged book store.
Ed Gardner, youthful owner of
The Book Shelf, opened the shop
recently with little fanfare.
“I love good books and I know
there are many peoplein Gaston
and surrounding counties who
have been hoping for a complete
book store,” Gardner said.
He invites lovers of good books
to come in 103 West Main Ave
nue, downtown Gastonia, and
browse through the new shop
where they will find all types of
good books, stationery, gift
wraps, greeting cards, and art re
productions.
Gardner added, “The 'Book
Shelf will stock all types of
books, but will specialize in juve
nile and religious books.”

Mrs. J. Craig Arrowood, held at
iLlnwood Presbyterian church.
Mrs. Arrowoodi wife of J. Craig
! Arrowood, died Tuesday, The
family formerly lived here.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Ar
rowood is survived by four chil
dren, Jackie Arrowood and Mrs.
Arnold Price, both of Gastonia,
^and Gene and Patsy Arrowood,
both of the home;'her sister, Mrs.
John B. Humphries of Gastonia;
and her btother, Herbert Seigler.
Going to the funeral from
