Todd Greene, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Greene, was taken to Charlotte on Tuesday and had braces removed from both feet Greene underwent sur- gr>''May’ 11. 'Miss Marjorie Crisp, her mo ther, Mrs. S. A. Crisp, and Miss Linda Crawley of Shelby left on Wednesday to \-isit Mr. and Mrs. Frank Batts in Macclesfield. They will return home Sunday. Miss Marjorie Batts was mar ried Sunday and the Grover peo ple went especially for the wed ding. Miss Crawley was a brides maid in the wedding. Miss Elaine Pruitt left Thurs day with a group going to Buff alo, New York She will enroll for a summer school course. Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore Byers went to Florence, S. C. Sunday for a spend-the-day visit wdth Mr and Mrs. Charles Byers and farnily. Mrs. Nina Westmoreland accompanied them as far as Lancaster, S. C. where she was guest of' Dr. and Mrs. Snott Baker and Dr. Alfred Baker for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Bubba Rountree, who recently graduated from Presbyterian college at Clinton, S C., have moved their trailer to the Troutman Trailer Park in Patterson Springs. Mrs. .Maude Oates Steele of Charlotte visited Mrs. M. C. Hardin last Wednesday. Jimmy Wright has graduated from Auto Diesel College in Nashville, Tenn. and is employ ed by Ford Company in Gas tonia. Intermediate Vacation Bible School has been held at First Baptist church the past week with Rev. Fred Crisp as princi pal. They enjoyed hamburgers, french fries and colas Friday night. Hood Waterson underwent eye surgery at Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat hospital in Charlotte and w’as a patient there Thursday through Sunday. Mr. and Mrs.’ Sherwood Tate and family of Shelby went to Mocksville on Wednesday. They ' took Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Tate to visit Mr. and Mrs. Jolley Duncan and fa.T'ily through Sunday. Mr and Mrs. Harold Drake. Hilda Drake and Angela Dixon, have returned from a trip to Washington, D. C. Mrs. Ehvight Dixon, Dick and Kathy Dixon, are visiting Mr, and Mrs. Jack Plnkelton. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Chapman and Sherry are vacationing at Myrtle Beach. Mickey Hicks, in Grover the past week, returned home with them r Jerry 'Lee, husband of Sally Davis Lee, of Georgia, received word of the death of hi.s grand- fathr the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Lee and family came to the home of Mr. an Mrs. Arthur Da vis and Andy for several days and to attend the funeral in Shelby. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hambright, Carol and Dawn, spent Sunday through Wetinesday at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Max Rollins and Melia spent the weekend from Raleigh with Mrs. Lillie Mae Rollins and the David Hawkins in Shelby. Mrs. Don Cabaniss and Dale of Atlanta, Ga. are visiting Mr. and Mrs. B. M.
