Neal Porter while Mrs. Porter is recovering from sur gery. . Mr. and Mrs. James Champion and boys went to Kings Moun tain Battleground on a family picnic Friday. Mrs. Keever Hamrick M^anda and Phyllis visited Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vess, Sr. Sunday after noon. •Mr. and Ms. Giles Bell and boys and Mrs. Lyman Chai.T.pion and Darlene are spending this week at Eau Gallie. Fla. visiting Mr. and Mis. Carl Champion. They plan to visit other places of interest in Florida while there, -Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Crawford and family spent some time last week at Windy Hill Beach, S. C. David Baptist Church will have a revival starting Aug. 15 at 7.r30-each o.vening.,Rev. Pranjt Monroe of Gaffney, S C. will be visiting speaker. Mrs. W. A. Mc- Svvain will have change of imu- sic. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hoyle and family spent part of last week at Windy Hill Beach, S. C. David Baptist church elected part of their church officers for the coming year Sunday eveninig. Those elected were: Histsrian; Mrs. Bill 'Babb; Clerk; Mrs. Gone Hoyle; Secretary: Miss Joyce Bolin. The Sunday School Superintendent: Gene Hoyle. Training Union director, Mr. Everett Patterson; Asst, director, Bill Babb; and Secretary, Harold Herndon Mr. MeSwain had a operation on his eyes at the Newton hos pital In Newton last week. He’s at home now' and is i-ecovering nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Thorn burg of Newberry, S. C. spent Saturday night with Mr, and Mrs. Wray 'Hiomburg. Mr. and Mrs. Everrett Patter son and Tommy are spending this week at Kure Beach, N. C.
