I N. 8 Hedrlng Test Unit Here On Satnrdoy A mobile electronic hearing test unit wiU be here Saturday and will administer hearing tests free to any one who wish a test. The unit will be on S. Battle, ground avenue in front of Belk’s Department Store from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The test is ^ven by an elec tronic device which produces for the listener a series of tones and results will show whether the hearer has normal, sub-nor mal or plus-normal hearings. Beam Reunion To Be Sunday Thursday, August 18, 1966 Thurii Birth Announcements '66 Grid Season Tickets On Sale Another grid season is just around the corner, as the Kings Mountain Mountaineers host Thomasville in the home opener on September 9th. Football season tickets went on sale Monday morning at Kings Mountain high school. Ticket for admission to four home games is $5, Principal Glenn Brookshire said. GRANGE MEETING No. 4 Township Grange will hold regular meeting Tuesday night at El Bethel Methodist church. The interested public is invited to attend. The annual Beam Reunion will be held on Sunday this year for the first time. It will be held Sunday. August 21st.—at- New Prospect Church Cleveland Coun ty. In previous years it has been held on T^hursday. The change has been made for the convience of relatives and triends and it is hoped it will give an opportunity for more to attend. The Reunion will begin at 11 ajm. Congressman Basil L. Whitener will address the group at this hour. A picnic dinner will be spread at the noon hour. George D. Beam, Sr., is Pre sident and urges every Beam, Kin, or Friends to make an effort to attend the Reunion on Sun day, August 21st. Kings Mountain pitcher Dar rell Whetstine gave up only four hits. Pennsylvania’s first inning runs were scored on a double by Herb Beeger, triple by Denny Dwitt, three Kings Mountain errors and a sacrifice fly. Kings Mountain scored a nm in the bottom of the first on a double by Mike Smith and a triple by Gene Putnam. Pennsylvania scored again In the second on a walk, stolen base and a single by pitcher Ekmny (Leitzel. The Kings Mountain team out- hit their foes by eight to four. In their three-run rally in the last of the seventh, Joe Cornwell walked, Smith singled, Putnam singled, (Cornwell and Smith scored on a single by Wayne Mullinax and Putnam scored. Geeper Howard reached fliret on an error. Leitzell struck out Clar ence Ash and Ken Mitchem on seven pitches to end the game. Whetstine pitched a four-hitter for Kings Mountain and fanned five. Bryant, of Charlotte, Kings Mountain native, will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from St. Paul Methodist church of Kings Mountain. Miss Bryant died Sunday morning in a Charlotte hospital. A former Kings Mountain resi dent arid Tbnhncr member of St. Paul church, she had lived in Charlotte for some time. TAX REBATE The city’s rebate from intan- gibles tax totals $948.28, City Treasurer Joe McDaniel said Wednesday. The budgeted amount was $8,383.39, Mr. Mc Daniel said.
