Fashion Show Set
By Junior Women
Winners in the recent local Belle's Department
Store-sponsored sewing contest at the high school will
model their prize-winning garments for a fashion show
Monday night at the Woman's club.
The showing of spring and summer wear is open
to the interested public. It will feature the program for
the regular May meeting of the Junior Woman's club
and will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the club auditorium.
Hostesses tor a social hour will be Mrs. Jacob
Dixon and Mrs. Bill Allen.
Commentator for the show will be Mrs. Bob Hul-
lender of the Belle's staff.
Modeling spring and summer fashions will be home
economic students from Kings Mountain high school
under the direction of Mrs. John H. Gamble, Mrs.
Charles Baird and Mrs. Connie Allison.

Richard Sold. Grover junior student at Florida
State University, has been initiated by Gold Key, lead
ership honorary fraternity for men.
Sold was among 23 student leaders recognized
for outstanding leadership on campus and who have
maintained a 2.3 grade average.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gold of Grover, Gold
is married to the former Vivian Wilson of Kings Moun
tain. They and their 15-months-old son, Richard Sher
rill, Jr., live in Tallahassee.
Mrs. Gerald Munson. Miss Carrie Cecica and Miss
Alice Pederson, all of Hopkins, Minnesota, returned
home Tuesday after being house-guests since Friday
of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Griffin.
Mrs. Munson visited a number of longtime friends
in Kings Mountain. A former resident when her late
husband was associated with Lithium Corporation of
America's Bessemer City Plant, Mrs. Munson is well
I known here.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Russell entertained at their
home at a patio supper honoring Mrs. Munson. Other
guests were Lithium Corporation associates of the
Munsons. Carlton Harris was dinner host on Monday
evening to the Minnesota visitors and on Tuesday Mr.
and Mrs. Norman Herrie of Gastonia were hosts at
luncheon at their home.
Enroute home Mrs. Munson and her friends will
tour the Western North Carolina mountains of Ashe
ville and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Members of the Senior Citizens club will gather
Friday at noon for a covered dish luncheon at the
Woman’s club.
Luncheon will be served in the club dining room,
a spokesman for the Woman's club sponsoring com
mittee said in inviting members to attend.
