is kept in the office of the County Auditor and
any item may be examined at any time by any
taxpayer of Cleveland County.

Article V of the North Carolina Constitution
slates: “Commissioners can not contract any
debt in excess of two thirds of the amount by
which the existing debt was reduced the next
previous year without a vote of the people.’’

In compliance with the law, the tentative bud
get estimate of Cleveland County for each fis
cal year is filed with the Clerk to the Board of
County Commissioners where it remains for
public inspection for twenty (20) days prior
to its final adoption by the County Commis
sioners. A notice will be published in the local
news media as to when the budget is available
foi' public inspection on the Clerk’s desk.

The Cleveland County Technical Institute has
85 to 90 persons enrolled in the high school
completion program.
Also, there were over 1,600 persons who partici
pated in one or more of 27 different courses at
Cleveland Tech during the year 1966-1967.
Additionally, all of this is for less than $ .01
of the tax rate.
