W. McCarter, will dance the role of the Sugarplum Fairy. Her partner for one of the numbers will be Steve Mor gan of Shelby. Mrs. Sykes of Asheboro portrays Diane Varsi’s mother in "Killers Three” which was filmed this summer in Ramseur. I The movie, produced by Dick Clark, stars Clark, Miss Varsi, Robert Walker and a lot of Ran dolph County people in the story of a group of bootleggers. Not only does Mrs. Sykes act in fhe film, she also wrote one part of it. Miss Varsi needed a monologue for an almost dream sequence in which she was re membering the past. Mrs. Sykes went off during the film and wrote the poetry-prose speech Berlin Mitchem In New Post rights to her poem. Ho also told Mrs. Sykes that lie liked her work and would like to u.se her in another film. Miss Varsi also tried to pur- suade Mrs. Sykes to come to Hol lywood for a movie career. Even ended up in ASheboro. Bcside.s lier acting, Mrs. Sykes has been busy with other things. She has had poems, songs, arti cles and columns published. Her son, 'T Went To Your Cliurch Last Sunday” is in the song Hall of Fame and has brought Iter let ters of approval from President Johnson and many memb(*rs of congress.
