“I know I’ll be talking before
civic flubs, possibly school groups
and others, she .says.
One thing she’s looking for
ward Is presenting a positive pic
ture of her crowd. “I think there's
too much publicity — too much
front-page news about the bad
side of youth and not enough at
tention to the good things they
accomplish and the contributions
they make", she says.
As a teen-ager, she should
kno\v. She’s been where the ac
tion was.
Vicki was on the basketball
team, .sports editor of tlie paper,
Beta Club member, a cheerlead
er, chosen an “Outstanding teen
ager of America” at her school
and is assistant pianist at church.
She’s planning to become an
elementary school teacher and has
already made her plan.s for col
lege. She has been accepted by
Clemson University where she
plans to get her degree in educa
tion.
Vicki has been in 4-H seven
years, a club leader and had
major projects in dress revue,
foods-nutrition, safety and public
speaking, clothing and citizen
ship.
In 1968 she w'as state public
speaking winner and in 1969, was
named "Miss 4-H” at the multi-
county Upper State Fair.
It’s an enviable list of creden-,
tial.s and accomplishments — an
impressive example of today’s;
positive side of youth.

Mythical Dragons i
There were many beliefs and I
legends about mythical dragons i
of history. Some said they were
evil spirits and others believed
tliere were good ones. There
were aslo many ideas about dif
ferent species. According to le
gend, some were four-Jooted ser
pents, some flew through the air,
and some even ejected fire.
