Wayne Byer.s was at the organ for a program of nuptial music and Mrs. Evelyn Champion was soloist. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Short cf 109 Benficld Road, the bride was given in marriage by her father and she chose a for mal gown of candle light dulcet satin and imiported peau de’amge lace. Her gown was styled with ^empire waistline featuring a hand If of lace rising to a point in the front, high Edlardian*collar edg ed In lace scallops traced with pearls and crystal beads. Lace in serts extended from the shoulder to the hand of the long sleeve.s and her A-line skirt was appliqu- ert with garlands of pearl-trimmed lace motifs, finished at the hem line with a deep border of lace. The detiichable train was border ed in jtwelcd lace motifs caught to the bank waistline and spread ing chapel length while her bouf fant veil of imported silk illusion was attached to a cluster of can dlelight silk florets. She carried a bouquet of pink roses centered with a white orchid. 'Mrs. C. B. Green attended her sister as matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mi.ss Bartiara Plonk and Miss Kay Kiinibell of Kings Mountain, Miss Shirley Mc Carter of Clover and Miss Susan Biddy of G&stonia. They wore flo<ir length gowns of strawberry t^iffon over faille taffeta, styled with empire bodices featuring high necklines and long full .sleeves. Shelby Junior League Announces Plans For Nov. 12 Holiday House The Shelby Junior Charity League’s sixth annual "Holiday House” has been scheduled for Thursday, November 12, and will be held al the new Holiday Inn on Highway 74 by-pass. Hours will be from 10 a.'m. until 4 p.m. Mrs. Lacy Ballard, chairman of the event, has announced that the event will be featured as a Christmas mall with merchandise displayed in different boutiques. A new feature of the project w'ill be boxei of original note station ery containing sketches of the Cleveland County Courthouse, city hall and the new Cleveland Morn- orial Library now under construc tion.
