Hardin heard the couple pledge vows of the double-ring ceremony in the pres ence of their immediate families. A program of organ music was presented by Mrs. Stave Pliilbeck. Met Thursday The Thursday Afternoon Book Club met April 25 with Mrs. 8ry on Hord at her liomo on Meadow- brook Road. Fifteen members were present. Mrs. Paul McGinnis, program chairman, presented Mrs. Nan Jean Grant, speech therapist, for the Kings Mountain Cily Schools, as guest speaker. (Mrs. Grant deliglilted the mem bers with her intorprefation c»f Act 11, Scene 5 of "Romeo and Ju llet” by William Shakespeare and “Attic In ihe Wind," a lyric poem, by Doris H. Lund. Mrs. Grant also discussed the servloes available for speech and hearing limltattotLs in the Kings Mountain City Schools. Mi'S. George Thomasson was the presiding otfflc'er. During the social period the hostess, assisted by Mrs. O. O. Walker and Mrs. C. E. Oxford, served a salad course and dessert with ooffee. Mrs. Wise, graduate of Win- throp college, taught art two years at Grier school in Gastonia before joining the clity school fac ulty two years ago. "Contact" Program Launched Mrs. Gene Austin, in<Jtrumental in the organization of “Contact”, telephone counseling service, gave the program at Monday night’s meeting of the Junior Woman’s olub.
