Moss, Sr. will celebrate, their Golden Wedding Day Sunday at a 50ih anni versary party to be hosted by their children at Kings Mountain Country club. Invitations have been mailed to friends anebrela- tivos to attend the party between three and five o'clock. * ♦ ♦ ♦ Robert Bront Stewart, son of M/Sgt. and Mrs. Herman Stewart of Mont gomery, Alabama, cele brated his fourth birth day Saturday, November 6th. A birthday party was held at Robbie's home and a decorated birthday cake was cut and served with party refreshments. Young Stewart is grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Stewart of the Dixon community. His maternal grandparents are from Tokyo, Japan. His great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Bell of Mount Holly. M, Sgt. Stewart is stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base. * * ♦ ♦ Sharon Cash, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Cash, celebrated her second birthday Novem ber 2nd at a party at her home on Shelby road. Sharon's circus - decor ated cake was cut and served with party refresh ments. Young Miss Cash is granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Cash and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis L. Goforth, all of Kings Mountain. Her great grandfather is Frank L. Goforth of Grover. Children present for party fun were Wade Cash, Sandra's six-year-old brother; Sammy Stinnett, Lou Ann Goforth, Phillip Cash, Robin Cash, Jerry Mc Daniel, Dawn Morris, Keith Morris, Shan Conner, Greg Conner and Mary Ruth Bridges. * ♦ * * t GOLD STAR LUNCHEON Cleveland County Gold Star Mothers and Fathers will be entertained at a Gold Star Luncheon Saturday at 12 noon at Hotel Charles Dining Room in Shelby. Hostesses will be mendbers of Warren F. Hoyle Post 82 Auxiliary of Shelby and Otis D. Green Post 155 Auxiliary of Kings Mountain. Special etertainment will be provided by Mrs. B. M. Jarrett of Shelby on the accordian. Mrs. Jarrett is a candidate for national president of the American Legion Auxiliary. Thirty local women will attend the luncheon. ♦ ♦ * * SWEET SIXTEEN PARTY Robin Dickey, daughter of City Commissioner and Mrs. J?m Dickey, and Sharon Timms, daughter of Mr.-and Mrs. Gene Timms, will celebrate their 16th birthdays November 24th. Parents of the two honorees will entertain at a Sweet Sixteen semi-formal dance from 8:30 until mid night that evening at Kings Mountain Country club. One hundred and twenty-five invitations are be ing issued. * * ♦ * COMINGS AND GOINGS Mr. and Mrs. Jack Patterson, their chilcfren, Mark and Ann, of Charlotte, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Patterson, Sunday. • Also visiting the Pattersons was their son. Dr. Bob Patterson, who is president of the American Academy of Religion Southwest, enroute from a conference in Nashville, Tenn. and Atlanta, Ga. He returned by jet to his home in Texas Monday where he is professor of religion at Baylor University. Eric Ross Green cele brated his seventh birth- W day Saturday, November 6th, at a party at his home on Bridges Drive. Games, ice cream and cake were enjoyed by the 21 children attending. C. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Edd Queen of '.Shelhy, is granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Glenn White of Kings .Moun tain. The couple pledf.ed vows of the double-ring cerentony before the Rev. Gene Watterson, min ister of the church. Mrs. Hubert Plaster was org.in- ist and Van Ramsey was vocal ist for the program of nuptial music. In the sanctuary a pyramid of candles li'ghted the area in the open baptistry which was bank ed with greenery, and a mam moth sunburst of yellow, gold and cream chrysanthemums, pompons and gladioli was plac ed on a fluted pedestal just be neath the candle pyramid, t’.re - cent candelabra holding fi.'leen lighted tapr'rs stood at each side of the central arrangement and these were garlanded with smilax entwincxi with loops of gold velvet bo^vs. Smilax with gold velvet bows enhanced the altar rail and also formed a garland around the baptistry. Cathedral candle sticks entwiraxi with smilax, chrysanthemums and velvet rii)- bons stood at four intervals by the front pews of the chinch. John Edd Queen escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The brides for mal wedding gown was design ed of candlelight peau de sole and was enhanced by medallions of Alencon lace appliqued on the bodice and short sleeves, with the design flowing down the front of the gown to form a wide .sweep at the center front hem line. The medallions were en crusted with seed pearls, sequins, bugle beads and crystals. The beading on the gown was done by the bride’s material grand mother, Mrs. Christonber Oiefii ’White of Kings Mountain. Appli ques inside the hemline was lace from her grandmother’s wixiding outfit and embroidered in blue were the initials SVIl-OGW and their wedding date Nov. 27, 1912. Her cathedral-length veil of im ported silk illusion was designed and made by the bride. Her veil was caught to a peau de sole cap covered with Alencon lace medal lions, crystals and sequin.s, out lining its design and individually arranged across the cap and back of the veil falling in a cascade ef fect to form a wide border around the entire veil. She car ried a cluster bouquet of gar denias and yellow roses. The Wedding handkerchief w-as bor rowed irom her maternal aent, Mrs.'Vernon Crotrby of Kings Mountain.
