PIMIFNTO VEGETABLE

1 cucumccr, grated
1 gi-een pepper, giated
1 small onion, grated
2 small carrots, grated
1 (2 oz,l jar or can pimientos i
chopped fine
1 enveloije unflavored gelatin
1 cup mayonnaise |
■Mix together cucumbers, green
pepper, onion, carpots, and pi
mientos, Drain, saving 3 table
spoons juice. Add juice to 1 en
velope gelatin and dissolve over
warm water In top of double
boiler. Add gelatin mixture and ■

Rites Conducted
l-\meral rites .for G. C. Hord, ,S4,
rctirf'd farmer of Route 1, Gro
ver, were c-onducted .Sunday at 4
p. m. from Mulls Memorial Bap
tist church, interment following
in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hord died Friday evening
of self-inflc‘cted gunshot wound
of the head at his home. He had
been very depressed, a family
spokesman said, since the death
this summer of his wife.
He is survived by four sons,
ElzJe Hord of Gastonia, Joe Hord
Cl' Kings Mountain. Odell Hord
of Gastonia, C’.avin Hoi-d of
Martins Ferry, Ohio, and four
daughters, Mrs. Junie Bowen of
Grover, Mrs. Ben Causbj' of
Kings Mountain, Mrs. Ben Wright
and Mrs. Carl Smith, both of
Shelby; one step-daughter, Mrs.
Lee ileafner of Grover; his
granddaughter, Miss Geneva
Hord, of the homo; 24 grandchil
dren and 37 gieat-grtinchildren.
