Powers and his Fayetteville partner scored a member-guest record 64 Saturday to take a one-shot lead, then maintained that lead Sunday with a closing round of (me-under-par 71. The victory ,was the second In three years for the Powers-Adams team. They finished a stroke ahead of defending cham pions John Howie and Ronnie Stroup, the only other team to ever win the event.
