HOWARD DUNLAP (CynUila Blanton) Eaitalde Baptist Church was tlw settbig for the 8 p. m. wedding uniting Miss Cynthla Ann Blanton and Howard Dunlap In marriage. _ Dennis Huffstlckler was organist and Martha Jackson was vocalist. The bride and bridegroom's selection of music was "O ‘Promise Me,” "Always,” “The Ix>rds Prayer,” and "We've Only Just Begun.” Hie altar was banked with Balsam Palms and decorated with gold and white candelabras, matching arch, prayer bench, and baskets of pink and white flowers. Marvin T. Blanton escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. Her formal wedding gown was designed with Empire bodice fashioned with sheer yoke outlined with lace ruffle and topped with a ruffled lace Edwardian collar. A band of matching lace circled the raised waistline. Bishop sleeves had matching lace cuffs at the wrists. The column skirt was enhanced with bands of lace which ex tended around the chapel train. Her chapel length mantilla veil of English Tulle with matching lace was caught to a ruffled lace calot. The bride carried a white Bible covered with English lace showered with pink and w4ilte car nations with pink rosebuds which she llRed from her Bible to wear on her golng- away suit. Miss Sheila Blanton was her sister's mald-of honor and Mrs. Jan Blanton, sister-ln-law of the bride, was the matr(Hi of honor. They wore long, formal gowns of pastel blue, and carried pink flowers wdth pink streamers. Bridesmaids were Miss Debbie Dunlap, sister of the groom, Debbie Falres of Clover, Cynthia Bolton of Kings Mountain, and Denise Grant of Bessemer City. They wore long formal gowns of pink and carried blue flowers with blue streamers. The registrar was Mrs. Joane Falres of Clover with Teresa Blanton, the brides cousin as assistant. Flower girts were Lisa Dunlap, sister of the groom, and Michelle Brooks of Charlotte. James Dunlap was his son's best man. Ushers were Mark Blanton, brother of the bride, Freddie Smith of Kings Mountain, W. K. Falres of Clover, T. W. Kelly, Jr. of Gastonia, and Eddie Brown of Gastonia. Rlngbearers were Everette Dunlap, brother of the groom, and Jeff Smith of Kings Mountain. The bride's mother wore a banana colored formal gown of Jersey crepe styled with empire bodice, low scoop neckline and long fitted sleeves. A sunburst of pesu'ls accented the front waistline. The A-llne skirt had hemline fullness. Mrs. Dunlap Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin T. Blanton of Kings Mountain, and Is a '75 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School. She Is employed by Mauney Hosiery Mill. Mr. Dunlap Is the son of James E. Dunlap smd the late Shelby Jean Leaser Dunlap of Concord, N. C. Churchills Say Vows In New York First Presbyterian Church of Jamestown, New York provided the setting July 17 for the wedding of Miss Alison May Bargar and John Robert Churchill. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sellstrom Bargar of Jamestown, Is grand daughter of Mrs. E. W. Griffin, Sr. of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. Griffin and niece of Mr. and Mrs. Wllsoi Griffin of Kings Mountain. She is a 1972 graduate of Jamestown High School sold received her B. S. In Biology from Roanoke College In January. The bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Benjamin Churchill of Yardley, Pa. He Is a 1970 graduate of Roanoke CUlege, Salem, Va. and Is employed In sales by Mercer Oxygen and Supply Oo., Trenton, N. J. Rev. Dr. John L. Sch midt performed • the double-ring candlelight 8 p. m. ceremony. The bride designed stnd made her wedding dress patterned after her mother's heirloom wed ding gown. She wore a gold cross necklace, a gift from her maternal grandfather, thsit has been worn by three generations of the family. Miss Nancy Gay Bargar, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor. Other at tendants were David O. Bargar and Douglas C. Bargar, brothers of the bride, and David A. Churchill and Walter B. Churchill, Jr., brothera of the bridegroom. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents at 804 Artington Ave. Ammg the out-of-town guests were the brtde’s aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Griffin of Kings Mountain and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Griffin, Lrol and Toby, of High Point. Mr. and Mrs. George B. Thomasson and daughter, Ann, of Kings Mountain, also attended In addition to guests from Denver, Philadelphia, Trenton and Florida. Mr. Cliurchlll's best man was Thomas S. I Southern Bell took the occasion to present their wedding gifts. Miss Stone presented gifts to members of her bridal party. Luncheon was served to 30 guests from tables decorated with yellow cloths and green napkins and arranged with miniature arrangements of daisies and mums. Let Bob Jones Miss Brenda Stone and Rick Falls were honored Friday evening at a rehearsal dinner hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Otis Falls, Jr., parents of the brldegroom-to-be. The dinner for 69 guests was served at Holiday Inn, Gastonia. Tables In the private dining room were ap pointed In white and yellow decorations. The bride-to- be’s place was marked by a shoulder bouquet which she pinned to4lie shoulder of her apricot party dress. Guests were members of the wedding party, two families and out-of-town guests.
