Piedmont Ave., were conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from Mountain Rest Cemetery by her pastor. Rev. Robert Boggan. Mrs. Grimes died Sunday night In Kings Mountain Convalescent Center. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cluu'les A. DlUlng and widow of Joseph W. Grimes. Survivors Include her sister, Mrs. C. H. Hardin of Shelby. Mrs. Grimes Is also sur vived by three nieces, Miss Annie Vera DUUng of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Richard McMackbi and Mrs. Earl Yarbrough, both of Charlotte, and one nephew, Edwin Hardin of Richmond, Va. JAMES KEN STEPP Funeral services for James Ken Stepp, 60, of 408 Baker St., were conducted Sunday at 4 p. m. from East Gold Street Wesleyan Church by Rev. Leroy Cox, Rev. Ansell Center, Rev. George Leigh and Rev. Pat Webb. Interment was In Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mr. Stepp died Friday afternoon In Kings Moun tain Hospital. A veteran of World War II, he worked for the City of Kings Mountain for 26 years. Surviving are his half- brother, Herbert Kimble of Kings Mountain, two si sters, Mrs. Elizabeth Howard and Mrs. Mary Fletcher, both of Kings Mountain. C. O. Grant, detective with the Rowan County Sheriff's Depart ment, said the boy was killed at his father's trailer three miles south of Salisbury Friday about 2:16 p. m. by a i6-gauge shotgun blast to his head from close range and that coroner’s Inquest has been ordered In the shooting death. Grant ssUd no charges have been made but that It Is appeared from his Initial Investi gation to have been an accidental shooting. Capt. Grant said that Johnson's brother, Johnny William Johnson, age 14, had ap parently been playing with a shotgun In the trailer, pointing It out the window, when he apparently dropped It and It went off.
