The day Dave was scheduled to negotiate some hairy turns in a car a large crowd turned out In Clayton to watch. The stunt required Dave to roar onto main street In a 1906 Chevy pickup, lose control and flip It end over end. The pickup truck la sup posed to head off the stars, Qeorge and Preston Pierce, who are riding motorcycles. J. Miller.” A few months ago, using stuntmen from Holl^ood, Dave produced a half-hour film on stunt work, which Is being peddled to TV. The new film, "Whiskey Mountain,” la due for release In May of 1977. Man Arrested After Chase Cecil Howard Campbell, 46, of 882 Rlrst St., was arrested Saturday following a high-speed chase by police. Campbell was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, driving 70 miles per hour In a 80 mph sons, failure to stop tor a blue light and siren, resisting arrest and public drunk- eiaieaa. Kings Mountain poUce reported the incident about 8:60 p. m. Saturday. Alerted to watch for the Campbell vehicle, the officer reported the vehicle faUed to stop tor the blue light and an elght-mlnute chase In the north aide of town ensued. When Campbell was stopped and removed from 'the vehicle officers said he had cuts on the neck, chin and forehead. Campbell told officers he was cut In a fight. He was treated and released from Kings Mountoln Hospital. Police said a friend of Campbell's said Campbell had fallen on some broken glass In the woods. Campbell was placed in Cleveland County Jail to await a hearing on multiple charges. Mountain St. Open House Is Held At Senior High School By CXNIME FAIX8 Open House was held at Kings Mountain Senior High School on Tues., Nov. 16. Parents who came had a choice to either tour the school or to follow their child's schedule by going to each of their classes for seven minutes each. There were various dis plays by classes. D. (Future Teachers of America) acted as guides. Guides Included Theron Feemster, Clndle Falls, Mercedes Smith, Sara DeBruler, Lynn Tate, Randy Qlbbons, Dana Ckmmer, Kathy Roberta, Jeff Ooudelock, Althea McClain, Cindy Wells, Barbara Patrick, Kenny Vance, Tommy Johnson and Belinda Owens. Mr. Gene Alexander's drama class presented two one-act comedies for the student body Friday. Powell, Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, reminds motorists the Thanksgiving hoUday weekend Is one of the most dangerous of the year on North Carolina's streets and highways. Powell said that during the 4 day (102 hours) holiday weekend last year (1070), there were 1,046 traffic coUlslons, 878 persons Injured, and 16 persons kUled on North Carolina streets and high ways. “As we approach this dangerous holiday weekend with 1802 fataUtlea this year, we can Improve this record, but we need the cooperatton of the public.
