’ The conversation began
with Mrs. Edgerton
commenting on her Im
pressions of an elective
course at Cleveland Tech
on Black Studies. She said
the school has a library of
tapes on which stories are
told about the days of
slavery all over the South
and how some of those
blacks and their ancestors
progressed to today.
When I asked Mrs.
BMgerton If she had her
own family history
recorded she said “No.
And I don’t pUm to do
research. That would take
lime and money I dn’t
have. As far back as I can
remember life Iism been
pretty good for me and my
famUy."
R was at this point Mrs.
Edgerton’s return to
school and her goals ^gan
to emerge.
So, putting fame, for
tunes and politics aside,
this la what American life
Is all about today.
