PUBUC NOTICE Juniors Lose To Shelby Kings Mountain’s American Legion Juniors host Forest City tonight before hitting the road for five straight Area Four Contests. The Juniors dropped their third League One game In four outlnge Saturday at Lancaster Fteld as Shelby outalugged them 16-9. The two tasuns combined for 38 hits. Including 16 for Shelby and IS for Post 166. Shelby led aU the way, picking up three runs In the first inning and going on to a 10-8 lead after three. Johnny Swlnk, the second Shelby hurler, was credited with the win. Steve McKee started for the vlsttare and exited after two and one-third tmlngs. Mike Jackson started for Post 166 and took the loss. Billy Lowery came on In the fifth and held Shelby two runs over the final four bitlngs. The big guns at the plate for Shelby wtre Tommy Wease and Mike Bankhead, wto combined for seven hits and 10 runs batted In. Bankhead hit a home run. Tommy Glover and Rusty BeU had three hits each to pace the KM attack and Jackson and Richard Van Dyke added two hits apiece. Jackson, who hit a homer, led the way with three nms batted In. The Juniors, who were scheduled to host Burke County In a makeup game last night, travel to Hickory Thursday and CSierryviUe Saturday.
