Mountain, North Carolina, In the City Hall, In the Commliilonere’ Chambers, Kings Moun tain, North Carolina, until 3 p. m. Aug. 3, 1377, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and all bid prices read aloud, for the fallowing: All necessary furnishing of materials and con struction of Fence and Oates at Davidson and Deal Street Parii within the corporate limits of the City of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. No bid shall be con sidered or accepted by the City of Kings Mountain un less at the time of Its filing, the same shall be accom panied by a deposit of cosh or certified check on some bank or trust company Insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Cor poration In an amount equal to not leas than five percent of the proposal. In lieu of making a cash deposit, the bidder may file a bid bond executed by a corporate surety, licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds, conditioned that the surety will, upon demand forthwith, make payment to the obligee upon said bend If the bidder falls to execute the Contract In accordance with the Bid Bond, and ui:on failure to forthwith make payment, the surety shall pay to obligee an amount equal to double the amount of the bid bond. This deposit shall be re tained If the successful bidder falls to execute the Ocntract within ten days after the award or foils to give satisfactory surety as required herein. 'Ihe successful bidder shall be required to enter Into a Contract with the City of Kings Mountain In writing and shall be required to furnish bond on some surety company authorised to do business In the State, or make a deposit of money, certified check, or government sureties for the full amount of said Contract Is required In Section 143-133 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. Plans, Specifications and Proposal Forms are on file at the Office of Engineering Department, P. O. Box 433, Kings Momtaln, North Carolina. Copies of these plans and specifications may be obtained by bona fide bidders. No bid can be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids, and the City of Kings Mountain North Carolnc, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive In formalities. He was a member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church, a vet eran of the Vietnam conflict and was em ployed as a classical guitarist. He was son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William A. Small. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Whetstlne Small,; one son, Pete Small of the home; one brother, Havelon Stogner of Sandford, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Black at Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Janice Marino and Mrs. Lathlne McLemore, both of Columbia, S. C. His pastor. Rev. Leroy Cox, officiated at the rites, assisted by Rev. Robert Boggan and Chaplain Leonard Byers. Interment followed In Mountain Rest Cemetery.
