JOHN ALLEN MTTCHELL m (Dana Fax Miss Dana Mauryne Fox became the bride of John AUoi MltcheU HI in a two o’clock formal wedding Saturday In Sardis Presbyterian Church In Charlotte. Ihe couple pledged vows of the double ring oeremony before Rev. Robert Smith, minister of the church, and Rev. James Armstrong, Jr., minister of Hickory Orove United Methodist Church In Charlotte, and former minister of the bride. Mrs. Betty Oulon was organist and Mrs. David Orr was aololst for the program at traditional music. The altar of the church was enhanced by the simple elegance of cathedral tapers. Altar vases held white gladiolus, white dirysanthemums, and yellow daisies. A three branch candelabra was used for the candlelight ceremony. Ihe organ program Included “Adagio In A Bride-Elect Honored At Lingerie Shower Bride-Elect Nell Oreen was honored Thursday night at a bridal party at the home of Mrs. Betty Crawford at 811 Rhodes Ave. Entertaining with Mrs. Crawford were Mrs. Myra Hagens, Ms. Linda Tlgnor and Mrs. Ann Whitesides. The bride-to-be wore a green and white pant suit and was glvoi a corsage of daisies from the hostesses. Louis Knoblauch Fox escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her In marriage. The bride’s wedding gown was a formal design of white silk organza, fashioned with a high neck. Venlse lace bodice, cap sleeves at lace, with an empire front, and a natural waist In back. The A- line skirt was enhanced with Venlse appliques and a scalloped lace border. Prom the waist In back, the aj^Uques of lace created an etheral look Into the chapel train. Her full length matching veil was completely bordered with a lace scallc^ edge worn over a Gondola frame, covered with flowing Venlse ap pliques. The bride carried a cascade of white miniature car nations, daisies, stephanotls, yellow miniature roses and baby’s breath. Miss Susan Llnnea Fox of Birmingham, Alabama, sister of the bride, and Miss Elizabeth Burnett of Charlotte were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Frances Loftln, Mrs. Steve McCurdy, Mrs. Barry Bradner, all of Charlotte, and Mrs. John Francese, Jr. of Asheville. All the attendants wore (^al chiffon for mal gowns with A-llne skirts and spaghetti straps. The bodice was enhanced with a chiffon ruffle, empire waist, and a chlffcn cape. They carried nosegays of yellow daisies, white fuji mums, and baby’s !>?Mth. Garza daisies -Lid baby’s breath or namented their hair. James Logan Mitchell of Fayetteville was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Charles Michael Fax of Birmingham, Alabama, brother of the bride; William J. Vaughn, Jr. of Williamsburg, Virginia; Michael G. Glbeon and E. Allen Proctor, both of Raleigh; and Ross M. Wright of PaoU, Penn sylvania. Participating In the wedding as honorary bridesmaids were Mias Carol Preston of Raleigh, Miss Karrln Whatley of Rocky Mount, and Miss Kathy Dean of Greensboro. They all wore long pastel gowns and white carnation corsages. The bride’s parents entertained after the Couple Honored At Rehearsal Whole vegetables or specially sized vegetables usually cost more than cut styles. On Friday evening, July 23, a rehearsal party, honoring Miss Dana Mauryne Fox and Jdui Allen Mitchell in, was given at Slug’s Choice Restaurant In Charlotte. Entertaining were Mr. and Mrs. John A. Mitchell Jr., parents of the groom. Guests Included members of die wed ding party, relatives of the two families, and out-of-town guests. Beautiful bouquets of flowers decorated the room. The bridal table held the four tiered whltt and yellow wedding cake, topped with a bouquet of yellow rosebuds and baby’s breath. The bridesmaids’ bouquets encircled the cake. Overlaid with lace over yellow, the refreshment table was arranged with two silver candelabrum set with summer flowers to match the bouquets of the bridal attendants. A silver punch bowl centered the I table I and silver ap pointments held party pick-ups. Assisting In receiving and entertaining were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gault of Gastonia, great-aunt and uncle of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stroupe of Gastonia, great-aunt and uncle of the bride, Mrs. J. N. Featherstone of Asheville, N. C., aunt of the bride, Mrs. Moffatt A. Gault, Jr., grandmother of the bride, chose a long blue chiffon gown with a corsage of white miniature roses. For their wedding trip to Sea Island, Georgia, the new Mrs. Mitchell choee a blue and white stripe suit wltti white accessories, and a corsage of miniature yellow roses and baby’s breath from her bridal bouquet. Charlotte will be home for the newlyweds.
