The loser of last night’s game was to play the winner of the Stanly County Charlotte loser’s bracket game. Results of last night’s action were not availa ble at the Mirror- Herald’s presstime. Kings Mountsdn led all the way behind the pitching of David Ray Robinson In Friday night’s win over Bun combe County but the Mountaineers had to stage a late rally Satur day to whip a good OreenvUle team. Robinson scattered abc hits for Friday’s victory. KM managed only tour hits off Scott Martin and Wendell Howard, but tUl of the hits came In key situations. KM lumped ahead 8-0 after three Innings and put the game on Ice with two more runs In the fifth. BCs only runs came In the fifth and seventh, and both were unearned. Coach Bobby Jones said his charges will have physicals at 6 p. m. at the fleldhouse, then run a mile. All football players, both Junior varsity and varsity, are urged to be present The Mountaineers will go through six days of conditioning drills be- tore beginning heavy practice next week. Jones, who has most of his players back from an 8-2 team of a year ago, said the coaching staff will try a new method of coaching this seats on. "All six of us will be working with both the varsity and Junior var sity,’’ he said. "That way, every boy will get the same coaching and we feel like It will really help our program. On game nights, only two or three of us will go with the team and It might not be the same coaches every time. "I really like the Idea," he went on, "because that will give the assistant coaches some exposure of being a head coach, which most of them want to be." Jones also announced that second - year coach Dan Brooks has been given the duties of defensive coordinator In addition to his line cosmhlng assignment.
