Page 2B—MIRROR-HERALD—Thursday, December 8, 1977 Second Baptist Church Is Setting For Wedding Second Baptist Church was the setting Sat., Nov. 2eth, at 8 p. m. for the wed ding of Miss Cynthia De nise Ouyton and Charles Steven Wilson. The couple pledged vows of the double-ring cere- moiiy before the Rev. Eu gene Land, minister of the church. Mrs. Ray Bridges was organist for the program of nuptial mudc and vocal selections were by Nelman Kell. Mr. Kell sang “More" and "There is Love" before the cere mony sj^d "Wedding Prayer" as the couple knelt st tMs altar for the benediction. The church decorations Included floor baskets filled with yellow and bronze mums. A golden arch was flanked on either side with baskets of snap dragons, pom poms and babys breath. Wrought iron candelabra were also placed on either side of the arch. The altar was banked with green palms and the bridal couple knelt before the altar on a prayer bench. James Ghiyton escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride’s wedding gown was sin Original design created of Qulana and Im- poreted Venlse lace. The contour bodice featured a cameo yoke of Brussells- type lace outlined with sculptured lace sprays delicately traced with pearls and crystals and topped with an Edwardian collar of lace scollops. Matching lace defined the raised waistline. Long, fitted sleeves had lace Inserts traced with pearls and lace scollops at tka wrists. The flowing A • lino skirt hsul a hemline border of lace scollops which extended arotm<h tho Ch^>el train. She wore a Chapel length veil of Im ported English tulle bordered with Venlse lace florets and caught to a matching lace calot. She carried bride’s roses on a white lace-covered Bible. Mrs. Steve Boheler of Wilmington, sister of tho bride, was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Mike Blanton of Bris tol, Va., Mrs. Jackie Barnette of Kings Moun tain, sisters of the brlds- groom. Miss Lori Gkiytcn, sister of the bride, and Miss DebMe Simmons and Miss Christy Mltchem, all of Kings Mountain. Anita Wright was flower girl. AH the attendants wore floor - length dresses of dusty blue Interlock Jersey styled with high draped necklines and long, fitted sleeves. A bias cummer bund circled the waistlines and the dresses were en hanced by flowing A-llne skirts. They carried arm bouquets of yellow mums tied with satin streamers. Charles W. WUson, Jr. was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Ronnie Wilson, the bride groom’s brother; Jackie Baimette, Mike Blanton, brothers-ln-Iaw of the bridegroom; Steve Boheler, brother-in-law of the bride, and Lanny Ouyton, cousin of the bride. David DlSabato carried the rings and Kim Rome distributed wedding scrolls. Mrs. Derek Roper, aunt of.the bride, presided at the bride’s register In the vestibule of the church. The bride's parents entertained after the cere- morxy at a beautifully - appointed reception In the church fellowship hall which carried out the wed ding colors. A decorated bride’s cake was central decoration for the bride’s table and punch and party refreshments were served from silver aiq>olntments. Assisting In serving were Mrs. Dewitt Guyton, Mrs. Frank BeU and Mrs. Charles Wright. Mrs. C. M. Lankford directed the wedding. After a trip to the moun tains, the newlyweds are residing In their new home on Fulton Road. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. James L. Guyton of Klngi Mountain are parents of the bride who Is granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesss Tar- bro. After graduating from Kings Mountain Senior High School, she attended Gaston College and Is em ployed by Gurney Indus tries. At KMSHS, she was active in the Beta dub, Bible Club, FHA Club, and Band. The bridegroom la the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Wilson, Jr. of Kings Mountain. He la a 1970 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is employed by Harris- Teeter Distribution Center In Charlotte. At KMHS, he was active In the Bible Club, DECA Club, Science Club and FHA. Married For 50 Years The Everette Bridges Honored On Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Everette T. Bridges were honored Sun., Nov. 27 on their golden wedding anniver sary by their sons, daughters and grand children. The Bridges were mar ried Nov. 96, 1927 In East- land, Ga., the home at the bride, who was the former Florence Falrcloth. Mr. Bridges Is a native of Statesville. A reception was held for the Bridges at the home of their daughter and son-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Falls Jr, who greeted al most 100 guests between 3 and 6 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bridges and Mr. and Mrs. Buck Bridges, sons and daughters-ln-law of the honorees, escorted guests to the refreshment table. The table was covered with a white n^n cloth MR.
