Shirley Valentine, school
secretary, said she feels that Grover
is offering a program "for the whole
child to grow and develc^.” Mrs.
Valentine has been employed by the
KM system tor 17 years, working In
school offices also at KMHS, Beth-
ware, Bast, Park Grace emd West
plsuits before going to Grover. She Is
a graduate of IQngs Mountain High
School.
Parent-Teacher Organization is a
new ^proach to the P-TA and at
Grover the group holds special
projects to earn money for needed
school items. ITie P-TA recently
donated a lamlnatlnn machlns and
held a most successful brunswlck
stew project, a complete sell-out.
"We had to return some of the
tickets," said Mrs. Valentine, it was
such a sell-out."

He came to Grover after teaching
three years at Bllenboro, one year at
ASU on a fellowship and two years at
Burlington. Mrs. Scruggs Is the
former Msirtha^Hudson of Brevard
and they are parents of two children,
Becky, a senior at WCU, and Chris, a
second grader. They are active In
’Trinity Episcopal Church.
Grover School has changed a lot
since I was a student In grades 8-12
and all for the better, a campus
where youngsters are growing up in
a good environment and enjoying
every minute of It.
