HARRIS DREXEL — Funeral ser- vicea for George Washington Harris, 67, brother of Mrs. Cart Paseur of Kings Moun tain, were conducted Wed nesday at 2 p. m. from Har- tland Missionary Methodist Church by Rev. Fred Tyler, interment following in the church cemetery. Mr. Harris died Monday in Valdese General Hospital. He was a native of Cleveland County, son of Mrs. Ollie Jane Allen Harris of Forest City and the late Felix Harris. Also surviving are his wife, Mrs. Evia Bowen Harris; his mother; a son, James E. J., has earned the second award of the U. S. Air Force Com mendation Medal for Master Sergeant Bruoe G. Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce W. Lewis of 22 Albion St., Lum- berton, N. C. Sergeant Lewis was presented the medal at Scott AFB, ni., where he now serves as a medical technical advisor with a unit of the Military Airlift Command The sergeant attended Littlefield High School, and has studied at Burlington County College in Pemberton, N. J. to receive his associate degree in 1977 from the Community College of The Air Force, which combines credits earned in the Air Force with credits earned at colleges to certify Air Force members for associate degrees. So-geant Lewis’s wife, Carol, is the daughter of Mrs. George R. Barber of IDS Williams St, Kings Mountain. and Lorrine Smith, both of New Haven, Conn.; his mother, Mrs. Annie Mae Bell Smith of Kings Mountain; four brothers, Willie Smith of Ft. Orange, Calif.; David Smith of Bronxdale, La. and Johnny and James Smith, both of Kings Mointain; and live sisters, Mrs. Pearl Lee Watson of New Haven, Conn.; and Mrs. Julie Moore, Mrs. Betty Logan, Mrs. Fay Spriggs and Mrs. Helen Jeffers, all of Kings Mountain. Hidfiitetler, 53, of Oak Grove Community, will be held Thursday at 3 p. m. from the Tabernacle of Love, interment following in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Rev. Bill Daniels, Rev.. George Leigh and Rev. Flay Payne will officiate at the rites. Mr. Huffsteder died at 11 p. m. Monday in the Kings Mountain Hospital after several days illness. He was a native of Clover, S. C., and a veteran of World War IL He was employed by Park Yam Mills. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eloise Grigg Huffstetler; his father; David Huffstetler; one I son, David Huffstetler of Gastonia; four daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Huffstetler, Mrs. Jackie Patterson, Mrs. Brenda Hollifield, and Mrs. Sheila Alexander, all of Kings Mountain; two brothers. Miss Green died Monday morning at 9:15 a. m. in Kings Mountain Convalescent Center after illness of several years. She was a native of Brookville, Md., daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. WUliam Green and had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Luther Cansler on Canterbury Rd., for a number of years. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Junior College of Raleigh and George Washington University in Washington, D. C. and Columbia University in New York. She was a retired librarian from the Union Theological Seminary of Rich mond, Va. and the Congressional Library of Washington, D. C.
