The luncheon featured the Initallatlon of offleera for the coming year. They are Mrs. Jim Dickey, preaidant; Mra. C.J. Gault, Jr., vlce-praaldent; Mra. George Kleppar, aecretary; and Mra. D.B. Tate, treaaurer, all of whom will nerve a aecond term. The luncheon honored Team No. 1, the winning team In floral arranglng- polnt Judging and programa for the year of which Mlaa Annie B. Roberta la chairman. Membera of the loalng team, of which Mra. A.B. Hilton la chairman, alao preaented a donation of tl per member and an> nounced they will make a community gift In honor of the winning team. Home-grown roaea from the garden of har brother, Leroy McOlU, decorated the home of the hoateaa which la beautifully decorated with artlatlc paints and prints of the hostess. Luncheon was served buffet style and guests ^ound their placos at the dining room table, which belonged to the hoetoas’ parents, overlaid with white outwork cloth and canUred with rasas on a mirror. Small tables wars alao covered In white cutwork and arranged with miniature arrangements of roses In bud vases. The club welcomed Mrs. Jim Leigh and Mrs. Hugh BnUth as new members. MlrroruHerald Womans Editor Ub Stewart was a visitor. Mrs. Jim Dickey (vened the luncheon with a MoravUn blessing and ^ MTS. Tom Trott, paogram chairman, read a recipe for a "Magic Oaks”, which taicluded gonaroua helpings of love, sued with faith and enhanced by courage, daring, earing, dreaming, patience, klndnesa and laughter. Plans for ths new year ware announced and nnembers were Invited to serve as hoateaaea and program planners. Mrs. Humes Houston served as secretary for the meeting. Hunter of Charlotte, Immediate past president of the Mint Museum Docents In Charlotte, was guest q>eaker before members cf the Cleveland County Historical Museum Docents Monday night. As President of the DocenU, Mrs. Hunter was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mint Museum of Chavlotte and Is a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the mint. She Is also the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Williams of South Washington Street In Shelby. The Museum Docents of [ aeveland County are not a I new group—only one with a new name. Formerly called Museum Guides, they are now called Docents. For those un familiar with the term. It means "teacher". The Docents, headed by Mrs. Lee Bodenhamer, meet the second Monday of every month for a training session In the Cleveland County Historical Museum’s Hall of Fame Room. The Museum Invites anyone Intersted In helping In a meaningful and worth while cause to attend the meetings.
