Sunday evening "Angel Winds," two young men who present the gospel In song and testimony, will give a program for the entire church. They have sung with the Pat Terry group and Erv Lewis, and appear at schools, coffeehouses, colleges, and churches. ; fjA ANN CHILDERS VIC CROWLEY Win In 4rH Fair Three Dixon Community 4-H’ers were Champions In the recent 4-H Achievement Fair, copping purple ribbons and cups. Ann Childers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Childers and president of the club, won the gold cup as me county 4-H'er compiling the largest number of points In the Fair. She displayed macrame, a model home with solar energy, rug hooking. sewing, pottery. Programs Set Frldav and Saturday evening programs continue at the Kings Mountain National Military Pamk June 22 and 23. The programs, held In me Park’s amphitheater, begm at 8 p.m. on Friday and 8 p.m. on Saturday and are open to the public free of charge. Frldaj . June 22, Dr. Joseph Talley of Grover, offers you a chance to overcome your fear of snakes by learning about some of this area’s more prevalent ones. Dr. Talley (one of the most popular evening speakers at the Park) combines humor and mountain folklore In an attempt to dispel popular miscon ceptions about snakes. Come early to get a good seat. Saturday, June 23, Chuck Boett cher, a permanent ranger at the park, will present a slide program about New Mexico’s Carlsbad Caverns. Before accepting his position at me Kings Mountain National Military Park, Mr. Boett cher served as an mterpreter at the Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Also, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, a small Revoluntlonary War Campsite will be set up near the Visitor Center. Heamer Crowley, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Crowley, won a silver cup as runner-up with the largest number of points ac cumulated for flower arranging and receiving two first place awards, one blue, four red and one purple champion ribbon for her efforts. She is a rising 9th grader at KMJH. Vic Crowley, son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Crowley, won a purple ribbon as a champion In photography and displayed his prize-winning photo. He has presented several demonstrations on photography for club members. He Is a rising sevenm grader at Central School. Other 4-H’ers honored with medals and certificates for programs completed: Amy Greene. Tracy Horton, Cassle Stewart, Linda Wells, foods and nutrition; Andy Berry, health record book; Gretchen Osborne and Ann cmUders, crafts; John and Jeff Hughes, livestock; and Ann Childers, dog care and photography.
