She received a Top Cookie * plaque from Lynda Rhome, ser- vice girl scout worker for this area of the Pioneer Council. ~_ Amy is a member of the Brownie Troop that is sponsored by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. The troop is the first Girl Scout troop to be sponsored “FIBER TO FABRIC” The Schiele Museum Pioneer Site will be open ‘on Sunday, April 25, 2-5 pm. Pioneer textile skills will be featured - including _ sheep shearing, spinning, dyeing, no and weaving along with an assortment of other typical spr- ingtime activities of a pioneer farm. Airman Bullard, a 1981 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, joined under the Air Force’s Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP), which allows him to accumulate time in the Air Force Reserve until he enters active duty July 13, 1982. Sergeant Billy Moye, Air Force recruiter in Gastonia stated that Airman Bullard suc- cessfully completed a series of tests which qualified him for the Administration Aptitude field training. Mitchell Joins AF Michael L. Mitchell son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis B. Mitchell, of 1002 Cleveland Avenue, Kings Mountain, has enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Airman Mitchell, a 1981 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, joined under the Air Force’s Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP), which allows him to accumulate time in the Air Force Reserve until he “enters active duty on September 30, 1982. Sergeant Billy D. Moye, Air Force recruiter in Gastonia stated that Airman Mitchell suc- cessfully completed a series of tests which qualified him for the Security Police field training. Greg Smith Joins USAF Gregory R. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Olus D. Smith, Jr., of 316 Maner Road, Kings Moun- tain, has enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Airman Smith, a 1980 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, joined under the. Air Force’s Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP), which allows him to accumulate time in the Air Force Reserve until he enters active duty on October 1, 1982. Peterson Graduates Staff Sgt. Johnny E. Peterson, son of Jack E. and Helen P. Peterson of Kings Mountain, has graduated from the U.S. Air Force fuels accounting course at Chanute Air Force Base, Ill. Graduates of the course earn- ed credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. Peterson will now serve at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Mich., with the 410th Supply Squadron. His wife, Kimberly, is the daughter of the Rev. Kerry and Carol Courtney of Alvin, Ill. The sergeant is a 1973 graduate of Kings Mountain High School. Sgt. Sellers Awarded Medal Sgt. Phillip W. Sellers, son of Wayne S. and Pansey S. Sellers of Route 3, Kings Mountain, has been decorated with the U.S. Ar- my Commendation Medal at Fort Sill, Okla. : The Army Commendation Medal is awarded to those in- dividuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the perfor- mance of their duties on behalf of the Army.
