The maid of honor car- ried a smaller bouquet of silk flowers identical to the brides, and the bridesmaids carried bou- quets of silk flowers consisting of cranberry wine and rosewood pink, set in baby’s breath. Each window of the church was decorated with one brass candle and pink and white poinsettias on each side. Three large seven-branch candlelabras were flanked by arrangemens of cranbery wine roses, rosewood pink roses, white carnations and small royal blue flowers. Family pews were marked with bows of white ribbons. Terry Melton and Jan Baliles attended the guest register. Following the wedding, the bride’s mother hosted a recep- tion in the fellowship hall of Se- cond Baptist Church. Following their honeymoon,’ the newlyweds will reside in Charleston, S.C. Parties Honor Couple Two parties last week honored Laura Carpenter and Warren Bingham, who will be married January 1 at Central United Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hamrick Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Dill- ing entertained Saturday at a lovely dinner party at the Hamrick home. Twenty guests were invited from Charlotte, Kings Mountain and Raleigh. The Hamrick home was decorated with the Christmas "holiday theme. Fifty guests from Charlotte, Gastonia, Shelby, Raleigh and Kings Mountain attended from - 2 until 4 p.m. David Baptist Sets Cantata The twenty-five voice Choir of David Baptist Church will present their Chrismtas Cantata “O Come Let Us Adore Him”, with words by Bill Sloan, music by Barry Braman, December 19, at 7:30 p.m. The director is Wanda Moore, Pianist is Jackie Porter, and Organist is Brenda Blanton. Solists will be Ricky Chapman, Cinda- Woodberry, Sharon Chapman, and Mike Woodberry. The children will act out the Chrismtas Story while the choir sings. The pastor, Rev. James W. Parks invites the public to at- tend. Live Scenes At Stanley First Presbyterian Church of Stanley will present nine live scenes portraying the Christmas story from the anunciation to Mary through the birth of Christ and one final scene depicting the ‘resurrection on Sun., Dec. 19 through Wed., Dec. 22 between 7 and 9 p.m. each evening. ~ Over 100 members of the church will participate. Scenes will be set up around the church so they can be seen from the car. The church is located at 512 Old Mount Holly Road. Cantata Set At David David Baptist Church will have the Junior Choir with 25 members, First Baptist Church, Shelby, to present their Christmas Cantata “Sing a Song of Christmas” by Don Phillips, December 22 at 7 p.m. The director is Mrs. Blake McWhirter.
