Youth Basketball
League Play Opens
The Kings Mountain Youth
Basketball season began Mon-
“day, Jan. 10. The 8,9,10 division
consists of 10 teams. The games
are held on Monday evenings at
the Kings Mountain
Neighborhood Facility Center
and Tuesday and Thursday at
- the Kings Mountain Armory.
Starting time is 6:30 p.m. As of
Monday, January 31 the stan-

The Kings Mountain 11 and
12 year old basketball program

Ole Country Store, sponsored by
Rich Moore and coached by:
Robby Wilson, remains
undefeated. The 11 and 12
games are played each Monday
through Friday at 5:30 p.m. at
the Kings Mountain
Neighborhood Facility Center

Nets Still Unbeaten
In Boys Club League
Boys Club league (11, 12, 13)
basketball action continued this
week with five league contests
and one interclub contest. The
Nets, led by Bryant Chambers
11 points, remained undefeated
with victories over the Hawks,
37-29, and the 76ers, 4942. The
Hawks were led in scoring by
Roydell McClain with 11 points.
The 76ers were led by Calvin
Byers with 10 and Tracy Wright
with 8.
In other action, the Celtics
also remained undefeated with a
46341 victory over the Nuggets.
X he Céitics were led by Thomas:
Post with 15 while the Nuggets
were paced by Gary Carroll with
16.
The Jazz also scored a victory
over the 76ers, 52-27, behind the
17-point effort of Reggie Logan.
The 76ers were led in scoring by
Anthony and Antonne Holland
with 9. a piece. The Lakers

leading scorer Demaris Rat-
chford with 30 points.

Lakers of coach Kenneth Wilson
traveled to Gastonia to play the
Gastonia Boys Club team and
recorded a 71-63 victory. The
lakers were led in scoring by
Shawn Smith and Cris Brown.
Outstanding play was also
received from Anthony Hillman,
Julius Pagan, Jamie Surratt,
Aaron Anderson, Brad Van
Story, Marcus Brooks and Der-
rick Ware.

dustrial Basketball season is
underway. Games are being

Gym each Wednesday night at
6:30 p.m.
The league consists of six In-
dustrial teams. After completing
half season, Spectrum Fibers is
undefeated. Spectrum is coached
by Freddy Wilson. The League

Program
Underway
A men’s body building pro-
gram has been formed at the
Kings Mountain Neighborhood
Facility Center. This program is
designed for the man who is in-
terested in muscle development
"of body building.
The space available is equip-
ped with the following equip-
ment: bench press, incline bench,
squat rack, lez table, lat
machine.
The instructor for this pro-
gram is Tyrone Garcia, who has
three years of body building ex-
perience. Garcia is 33 years of
age, and he bench presses over
300 pounds.
The program is offered Mon-
.day through Friday at the Kings
Mountain Neighborhood Facili-
ty Center Gymnasium. For

John Dilling’ s team swept four
games from Wimp Bowen’s team
in Mixed Duckpin League Bowl-
ing action Tuesday night at the
Dilling Heating Lanes.
John Dilling led the winners
with a 143 line and 371 set.

Johnny Dye scored a 131 line
and 363 set to lead his team to a
3-1 win over Gerald Hipp’s
team. Ronnie Scruggs led the
losers with a 127 line and 362
set.
In action last week, Dilling
won three of four games from
Johnny Dye’s team and Hipp
took three of four from Wimp
Bowen.
Dilling led his team with a 143
Ine adn 365 set but Dye won
scoring honors for the night with
a 152 line and 401 series. Hipp
scored a 142 line and 372 set to
lead his team’s win over Bowen.
R.W. Hullender had a 130 line
and Bowen had a 330 set for the
losers.
