aE RUCKER. Rucker Finishes Basic Roy James Rucker, son of i Tommy Rucker of Kings Moun- ‘tain, graduated basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, April 28, and is now in Quarter- master’s Training at Ft. Lee, Va. He is a member of the Bravo Company, Kings Mountain Na- tional Guard. Crank On Duty In Arizona Spec. 4 Betty J. Crank, daughter of David J. Crank of Bessemer City, has arrived for duty at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. Crank, and administration specialist with the U.S. Army Communications-Electronic In- stallation Battalion, was previously assigned in Brunssum, Netherlands. She is a 1979 graduate of ‘Bessemer City High School. Sarah Maner Is Inducted CHAPEL HILL—Sarah Maner was inducted into the ‘Rho Chi Society at ceremonies "held at Burroughs Wellcome 'Co., Research Triangle Pard, N.C. on April 28, - Rho Chi is an honorary phar- mancy society which recognizes students who students who at-. tain not less than a 3.0 grade point average, and are in the top 20% of their class. In addition, the selected student must possess strength of character, personali- ty, and leadership. Miss Maner is in the 4th year of the five year pharmacy cur- riculum at the UNC-CH: School of Pharmacy. She is from Kings Mountain and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. BF. Maner. McAllister Joins Group Durham, ; McAllister of Kings Mountain recently attended the New Agents’ School at the Home Security Life Insurance Com- pany in Durham, N.C. McAllister represents Home Security Life in the Gastonia District Office. Home Security has 259 employees in the Home Office and 550 agents in the field, throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and a small sec- tion of Georgia. Since its organization in 1916," Home Security has stressed training of its employees. The New Agents’ School is a one- week intensive training program designed to motivate and develop new agents. The school is followed by 25 weeks of ex- tended study. At the Kings Mountain Depot, they will walk onto Piedmont Avenue to Highway 74, then go east to Hardee’s and eat lunch. They will then walk on Highway 161 to Lithium Corporation, and then take Long Creek Church Road back to the fire depart- ment. The walk will be 10 miles.
