Grady School of Journalism. Advertising is her major area of study, with secondary study in graphic arts. Rucker Completes Training Army National Guard Pvt. Roy J. Rucker, son of Willie T. Rucker of Rural Route 5 of Kings Mountain has completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, history and traditions. He is a 1982 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School. Developers Sgt. Sisk Is Commended Marine Sgt. Johnny M. Sisk, son of Johnny G. and Margaret A. Sisk of 1004 N. Cansler St., Kings Mountain, has received a Certificate of Commendation. He received the letter for superior performance of duty while serving with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Helicopter Air Station New River, Jacksonville, N.C. A Certificate of Commenda- tion is official recognition of an ‘individual’s outstanding ac- complishments and is presented during formal ceremonies. CLOTHING CLOSET The Kings Mountain Woman's Club and Good Earth Garden Club will begin collec- ting children’s clothing for a community clothing closet for ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Collections of used clothing will begin Sat., June 25 from 10 a.m. until noon and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Clothes should be sized and clean. The bride wore a gown of Candlelight satin. The fitted bodice of English net overlaid with Alencon lace motifs re- embroidered with pearls featured a Queen Anne neckline and covered buttons down the back of the dress. The long fitted sleeves were caught at the wrist with tiny covered buttons that ended in a point over the hand. The A-line skirt extended from the natural waist to the deep border hemline of Alencon lace that flowed into a semi- Cathedral train. The bride’s veil heirloom of silk candlight illusion attached to a Juliet cap and covered with pearls and Alencon lace was edg- ed with Alencon lace and pearls that extended into a walking length train. She carried a cascade of candlelight roses, stephanotis and baby’s breath. A reception was held im- mediately following the ceremony at Moonham Library. It was hosted by the bride’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hoover Scism of Spindale greeted guests. The bride’s table was skirted with candlelight cloth and overlaid with candlelight lace. A center arrangement of lavender and ivory flowers and ivory candles decorated the table. Silver appointments were used in serving sausage balls, decorated finger sandwiches, cheeses rosetts, cream filled pastries, strawberry delights, mints and nuts. A similar cloth was used on a round table which held the five- tiered wedding cake decorated with lavender flowers and greenery and ‘topped with candlelight satin wedding bells and silk flowers. Following a wedding trip to North Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will live on McDade Road in Forest City. Smiths Married From Page 1-B was Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Louisa Isley of Burl- ington, Miss Sharon Smith, Miss Cindy Stowe, Miss Blair Styers and Miss Kim Whitesides, all of Gastonia, and Miss Carol Ben- nett of Kings Mountain. Charles Lee Smith was his son’s best man. The bride’s parents entertain- ed at a reception following the wedding. The groom’s parents hosted the after-rehearsal dinner. Following a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Greensboro.
