Legend has it that the evergreen tree was chosen by the Christ Child as a symbol of Christmas. In Germany, people decorate their trees on Christmas Eve. In England, on the night before Christmas, Father Christmas slips into the house and fills the stockings with treats. ‘Christmas Around World Presented At Nor 5 “Christmas Around The World” was the program theme of Thursday night’s PT-O- sponsored program at North School. Third, fourth and fifth grade students presented the program in story and song. Mrs. Darrell Austin was piano accompanist and assisted with: staging, direc- ting and costuming. Third, Fourth and Fifth grade teachers, aides and parents assisted the young people. The countries represented were: Germany, Ms. Parker's Fourth Grade, Ms. Crosby, aide; Sweden, Ms. Bell's Fourth Grade, aide, Mrs. Dixon; Mexico, Mrs. Gladden’s Third Grade, Aides, Mrs. Garvin, Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Gibson.
