MRS. ROBERT CHARLES CARPENTER Carpenters Married Saturday In Shelby The Lutz-Austell Chapel in Shelby was the setting for the Saturday wedding of Patrica Margaret Maida and Robert Charles Carpenter. The Rev. Leonard Byers of- ficiated at the | p.m. ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Maida of Kings Mountain. She is a graduate of Martin Van Buren High School and Adelphi Business School, New York. She is employed by a Shelby firm. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Carpenter of Shelby. He is a graduate of Burns High School and Gardner Webb College and is owner and manager of Shelby Steel Products,Inc. The bride was given in mar- riage by her father. Raymond Kariger was pianist for the pro- gram of nuptial music and Mrs. B. Larson was vocalist. . Mrs. Fred Forgione of New York was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Wanda Scruggs and Mrs. Becky Dorsey, cousins of the bride. Flower girl TAMARA MARIE WILSON and rice attendant were Stephanie and Jessica Ingersall of Shelby. All the attendants wore for- mal gowns of orchid dacron organza. The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Michael Drake, Joe Peeler, and Marty Goode. Register attendant was Mrs. Guy W. Smith, aunt of the bride. Wedding director was Mrs. Joyce Bowman. The bride’s parents entertain- ed after the ceremony at a beautifully-appointed reception at the Dover Woman’s Club.The wedding colors of orchid, white and yellow were featured in decorative details and in refreshments. Herald Style/ PAGE 1-B THURSDAY, MAY 31, 1984 Moores Exchange Marriage Vows At Kings Mountain Depot Center The Kings Mountain Depot provided the setting May 19th for the wedding of Miss Karen Denise Harmon and Kevin Blake Moore. Rev. Daniel Crowley of Bel- mont heard the exchange of vows in the impressive double- ring ceremony for which nuptial music was provided by Robbie Wells at the piano. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a wedding gown of Ivory polyester crepe designed with a Queen Ann neckline edged in silk Venise lace. The long, full sleeves and fitted bodice were adorned with silk venise lace sprinkled with seed pearls. The deep lace appli- qued cuff came to a point over the hand. The A-line skirt fell from an empire waistline and ex- tended to a chapel length train. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion was trimmed with matching lace and fell from a bonnet headpiece covered in silk venise lace. She also wore a locket that belonged to her grandmother. Her bou- quet was of daisies and centered with an orchid showered with satin streamers. Donna L. Harmon of Grover attended her sister as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Audrey Hooks of Marion, S.C. and Becky Morrow, cousin of the bride, of Kings Mountain. All the attendants wore floor length gowns of rose tinaseta designed with a high neckline. The bodice featured matching chiffon diagonal ruffles. The gathered skirts fell from a natural waistline with a tie belt. They carried bouquets of daisies. The bridegroom’s father was best man. Ushers were Terry MRS. The bride’s mother wore an aqua street length dress of tinaseta with vertical ruffles on the bodice and an orchid cor- sage. The bridegroom's mother chose orchid tinaseta and a white orchid corsage. After the ceremony, the bride’s parents entertained at a beautifully appointed wedding reception in the Depot Hall. The pink and white theme of the wedding was featured in decora- tions. The two-tiered cake was decorated with pink roses and large sugar wedding bells and was made by the bridegroom’s aunt, Mrs. Toni Gibson, of Mount Holly. The cake was cut and served by Marguerite. Moore, Sherri Moore assisted with the serving of refreshments. Out-oftown guests included friends and relatives from Fort Mill, S.C., Laurens, S.C. Blacksburg, S.C. and Charlotte, N.C. Lynn Walters presided at the guest register and Vangie Ramsey directed the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Joe L. Harmon of Route 1, Grover are parents of the bride who is a graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and attended American Business & Fashion Institute of Charlotte. She is the grand- daughter of Mrs. Homer Har- mon of Kings Mountain and.the late Mr. Harmon and the late Mr. and Mrs. F. Lee Foster. Mr. and Mrs. Roy S. Moore of Gastonia are parents of the bridegroom. He attended Gaston County Schools and is employed in the body shop of Lucus Truck Sales of Charlotte. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. T.L. Gibson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Barney Moore. After a trip to Florida, the newlyweds are at home in Grover. Morgans Married In Stanfield, On Wedding Trip To Hawaii Mr. and Mrs. Chip Joshua Morgan, who were wed Sunday, are on a wedding trip to Hawaii and afterwards will be at home in Stanfield. Miss Sarah Jane(Sally) Love became Mr. Morgan’s bride in a 3 p.m. ceremony in Love’s Chapel United Methodist ~ Methodist Church of Stan- field. Rev. James G. Allred and Rev. Paul Bell heard the ex- change of vows in the double- ring Candlelight ceremony which featured the Unity Candle Service. The bride is the daughter of Wayne Barbee Love of Stanfield and the late Katherine Morrow Love and is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin McIn- tyre of Kings Mountain. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray J. Morgan of Route 1, Oakboro. The altar of the church was enhanced by cathedral candles in wrought-iron candelabra and centered with mass ar- rangements of pink roses and greenery. Pews were marked with sprays of pink roses. George Lowder was organist for the program of nuptial music and Miss Jane Love, cousin of the bride, was vocalist. Miss Love sang “Walk Hand In Hand” before the ceremony and the benedictional “Wedding Prayer.” The bride was given in mar- riage by her father. Her wedding gown was a formal design of white organza designed with Queen Anne neckline, bishop sleeves and a fitted waistline. The bodice was trimmed with white Venise lace and seed pearls. The sleeves were trimmed with Schiffli lace on the shoulders, surrounded by Venise lace. Venise lace was also on the cuffs. The bottom of the dress was trimmed with Venise lace and a cathedral length train enhanced the gown. She wore a fingertip length veil edged with Venise lace and appliques and worn with a bonnet cap covered with matching lace. The veil of triple tiers had a rolled edge on two of the tiers and the third tier MRS. CHIP JOSHUA MORGAN (Sarah Jane Love) was trimmed in Alencon lace. She carried a bouquet of 18 long- stemmed sterling silver roses. Mrs. Cindy Chaney of Stan- field was her sister’s matron of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Mitzi Barbee, Mrs. Angie Cline, Mrs. Renee Ferrell, Mrs. Angie Teeter and Mrs. Cathy Troublefield. All the attendants wore long formals of summer pink floral sheer with matching pink tulle hats with streamers at the back. They carried a dozen long- stemmed pink roses. Miss Suzanne Bates and Miss Maria Lilly were honorary atten- dants. The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Darrell Cline, Eddie Hill, Wayne Love, Jr., Mark Smith and David Troublefield. Honored guests were Mr. amd Mrs. Franklin Mcintyre of Kings Mountain, grandparents of the bride; and Mr. and Mrs. Judge W. Morgan,Sr. and Mrs. Rosetta Lambert, grandparents of the bridegroom. The bride’s father entertained after the ceremony at a beautifully-appointed pink and white reception which carried out the wedding colors.The bride’s table was overlaid with white cloth and held a silver candelabrum set with pink candles and pink roses. Pink nosegays of roses were at the corners of the table. The tiered wedding cake was also decorated in pink and white and topped with roses. Refreshments were served from silver appointments. Assisting in serving refreshments were Mrs. Jackie Furr, Mrs. Jo Love, Mrs. Kay Eudy, Mrs. Jerry Holbrooks, Mrs. Patsy Honeycutt, Mrs. Darlene Stamey, Mrs. Barbara Waksmunski, Mrs. Loretta Starnes and Mrs. Mary Williams. The bride is a 1979 graduate of West Stanly High School and a 1983 graduate of the Universi- ty of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed by Love Lumber Company of Stanfield,Inc. as secretary and bookkeeper. The bridegroom is a 1980 graduate of West Stanly High School, attended Stanly Technical College and is employed by P. C. Godfrey,Inc. of Charlotte. Attending the wedding from Kings Mountain, in addition to the bride’s grandparents, were Mrs. W. Eugene McCarter, Mrs. Leroy McGill and Miss Elizabeth Stewart. The rehearsal dinner on Satur- day night was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Mike Eudy at their home in Albemarle. The bridesmaids luncheon was hosted at Myers Park Coun- try Club in Charlotte on Satur- day by Mrs. Wade Dean McHenry, aunt of the bride. Miss Cheryl Barbee served as guest registrar for the wedding and reception. Honors Couple Miss Patricia Maida and Robert Carpenter, whose wed- ding was on Saturday, were honored Friday evening at a rehearsal dinner hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Carpenter, parents of the bridegroom-elect. Twenty members of the wed- ding party enjoyed dinner at the Western Steer. Out-oftown guests were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Archidiacone and Mrs. Edward Toch, aunt of- the bride-elect.
