RR RP IR BR a wisi i Wm, KM Women In Hawaii.... brary Notes By ROSE TURNER Have you read a good book lately? Laura Southards and Jac- gueline Harmon have. They are enrolled in the summer reading club at the Mauney Memorial Library, and would like to share some books they particularly en- joyed. Laura Southards reports on FAMOUS A PIONEERS, by Ramon Coffman. This book is about famous pioneers. I chose to write my story on Daniel Boone. Daniel Boone was born in Pennsylvania on November 2, 1734. Daniel enjoyed the great outdoors. He loved to hunt very much. When Daniel was young he lived alone in the wilds of Kentucky. Throughout Daniel Boone’s long life the frontier was his home. From his early childhood 1, Price juniors’ shorts Save on our entire stock. Many styles, colors, fabrics! Daniel Boone lived in Kentucky late after he was born. Kentucky was called “Dark and Bloody Hunting Ground.” Daniel Boone died shortly before his 86th birthday in 1820. Jacqueline Harmon reports on THE BLUE WHALE, by Don- na K. Grosvenor. This story was about Blue Whales. A baby blue whale is born in warm water and drinks it’s mother’s milk. One day the mother and baby go to feeding grounds in Antarctica. After many weeks Bib Blue and mother arrive. They found lots of krill to ear. Big Blue is nearly one year old. He can take good care of himself. The Blue Whale is a mammal. | Matthews EJPelk OPEN EVERY EVENING Eastridge Mall Open Mon. .thru Sat. 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Dixie Villoge, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Both Stores Closed Sundays Women Visit Hawaii Mrs. Veralee Mask, Miss Allie L.
