the first overtime.

boards against the tall Hilltop-
pers. R-S held a 36-30 advantage
for the game but each team had
18 in the second half. Crocker
led the way with 16, Curry had
10 and sophomore Aubrey
Hollifield nine.
“I just can’t say enough about
Curry and Crocker,” said Sipe.
“They both played exceptionally
well. Hollifield also played a big
part in the victory.”
Curry’s 30 points gave him
1,002 for his three-year career.
Crocker added 22 and Hollifield
12. Reggie Smith scored 18, Kin-
caid 13 and Ed Smith 11 for the
Hilltoppers.
R-S Central’s girls jumped out
front early and never let up to
post a 5540 win in the opener.
Angie Hamilton and Tammy
Hunt scored 19 points each for
R-S. Erica Woods scored 12 and
Doreen Pettus 10 for the Moun-
tainettes.
R-S Central led 14-6 after the
first period, 33-21 at intermission
and 47-29 going into the fourth
quarter.
The Kings Mountain teams
begin the second half of SWC ac-
tion Friday night at home
against Crest. The Mountaineers
go to South Point Tuesday.
